Sachin=GOD Posted May 30, 2011 Posted May 30, 2011 Why do people care so much about affairs of sportspersons? :dontknow: Isnt it their personal matter.. usually people don't care if someone like Shane Warne has an affair because these guys have that kind of an image but when someone like Tiger Woods or Ryan Giggs has an affair then I guess some people are disappointed because these guys have built an image of being saints and are role models for millions of young kids around the world.

Sex with an underage person (potentially a criminal offence) I could go on. The moment you stop giving out those injunctions people will lose interest in who slept with whom, you are actually spicing up the interest. Lastly in this day and age, super injunctions are meaningless (as it covers only England) and a website based in the US could give out this info. I think the only people (other than their families) who have the right to object are the sponsors who use the image of the sportsperson to sell their products and pay him for that. These people are losers in case of such scandals since the brand image of the product is tied to the clean image of the individual.

The key point is muzzling the press and secondly potential for people to do all kinds of nonsense and then getting injunctions preventing others from talking about it. Ex: The UK football manager who has an injunction preventing the husband of the woman he slept with from talking about it, this is just preposterous.
