ICC investigating Amir for breach of ban ESPNcricinfo staff June 8, 2011 The ICC is investigating claims that Pakistan seamer Mohammad Amir has defied his ICC ban by playing for Addington in the Surrey Cricket League Division One, according to a report in the Daily Mail. The sanction - imposed on Amir and two other Pakistani cricketers following the spot-fixing investigation - bars him from participating in the game at any recognised level, and he could be in breach of the ICC ruling if he played for Addington. "We are investigating and awaiting the details," ICC spokesman Colin Gibson told the paper. "If true, it is clearly a breach of the sanction imposed in February. The ban is absolutely worldwide covering all levels and any activities connected with cricket. What might happen next is a hypothetical question at this stage." Amir, 19, was handed a five-year ban from the game after being found guilty of bowling no-balls on demand during the Lord's Test last against England last summer. Pakistani fans and PCB are the most forgiving when it comes to celebrities. They can forget and forgive anything to see their stars back on the field. If only Aamir can be a little careful for a change, he has a very good chance of playing international cricket again. But he just does not have the patience and the will for the same.

Such a talented cricketer.............why did he have to represent Pakistan out of all countries :banghead:

Moron...you have a five-year ban on your head so why not ask someone higher up who might actually have a clue...

Not really. He also signed a agreement/contract before playing stating that it was a friendly game etc........ The only reason this is getting magnified is because he played a game of cricket and everyone is speculating and thinking its somehow falls under ECB control. However I might be wrong, but he seemed to know what he was doing for once :giggle:

He says in the article he didn't sign anything. There are obviously silly people at the club, but given what happened after his last friendly game I find it hard to believe he couldn't/shouldn't have sought more clarification on it..
