Guest Gunner Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 I think it is time this talented youngster replaced Yuvraj in the ODI team. Yuvi is over the hill, his WC performance was his peak and I think we should start building for the future. The future is clearly Rohit who is all class and talent. Quite frankly yuvi is a faded version of the man who hit braod for six sixers. I think it is time he goes before he turns into a full time bowler like his Pakistani counterpart Afridi did.

He will play the occassional crazy shot which will drive you nuts but on the overall, this is his time. Yuvraj is in his way.

If the WC was his peak, then what are we supposed to call his form in that time period? Peak-ier? Peak-iest? :phehehe: You have obviously not been watching much of Indian ODI cricket at all, recently. Even if you did, you probably have forgotten most of it. Lets just make one thing very clear – By his previous standards, Yuvraj had lackluster year of 2010 in ODIs. For the first time since 2003, he was actually dropped from the team for non-fitness related reasons. After all that turmoil and tribulation, the guy bounces back to deliver one of the most critical performances in WC history with both bat and ball and you want to be dropped saying this ‘represents his peak’? Unless of course this is an elabote spoof on the 'Drop Bhajji from the team based on one bad match' thread, I am completely flummoxed! :dontknow:
ganeshran Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 Nohit needs to perform well in the series to get back to the first choice side. I was a huge supporter, but have become disillusioned with his string of poor performances from him. He has lots of talent but needs to improve his temperament.

As long as we don't push Yuvraj back into the Test side I don't have an issue, he has plenty of good years left in ODI cricket.

I read his interview last week and he said that the board has not given him permission to speak about the injury and the time frame. :facepalm: If Kohli gets 3 tests in the WI, he is likely to seal the slot given how well he takes his opportunities. I'd love to see him at 6 in England. Tough on Pujara but that is how it goes.

Many of the great ones started at that number and then moved up.
