wobblydoggy Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 It is undisputed that India have the best test batting team in the world, particularly so in home conditions, not even by me:haha:, But, are your bowlers up to it? Recent form shows that your bowlers lack the temperment to take 20 wickets in awkward situations and even on friendly pitches. How will this effect your test side once your big three batsmen retire?

The only thing this statement shows is your minuscule knowledge of the game of cricket. Because if you had even an iota of understanding, you would have known that India beat South Africa in South Africa in a Test match just two Tests ago.

Yes they did, but that does not mean they are an all conquering attack such as we saw from the Windies in the 70's and 80's or Austrailia for the Warne and McGrath era. But then maybe you were not born then:haha:
wobblydoggy Posted June 14, 2011 Author Posted June 14, 2011 I am not a Troll. Are you saying that this board is only for supporters of India? I as a cricket lover watch all the sides, I support England, but I appreciate excellent cricket where ever I see it. Not a very nice welcome or dont you guys like to be challenged by cricket banter?
urbestfriend Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 India may not be a world beating bowling lineup like windies of 80's but we have a more than decent bowling lineup coupled with top class batting which makes us superior team.

I agree, but what about when your elderly batting line up retires?
1983-2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 I agree' date=' but what about when your elderly batting line up retires?[/quote'] chachaji, you don't need to worry about our cricketing future, people have been talking about Tendulkar, Dravid, Laxman retiring for years now. Let us enjoy our No.1 Status in Test Cricket, World Cup champions and having the best twenty20 league in the world for now please.

I worry about its effect on the careers of test cricketers and if it will see a decine in the Test status as the 'best of cricket, I thought you thoroughly deserved your one day crown, but wait till next time:whack:
Switchblade Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 I agree' date=' but what about when your elderly batting line up retires?[/quote'] Well we have the likes of Rahane,Pujara,Mukund sure they may not be in the leagues of Sachin,Dravid or Laxman but i think they are good enough to do well once they get their chance :two_thumbs_up:.

It will be interesting to see if India fade like Australia have once their greats retire.

Cricket Tragic Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 I am not a Troll. Are you saying that this board is only for supporters of India? I as a cricket lover watch all the sides, I support England, but I appreciate excellent cricket where ever I see it. Not a very nice welcome or dont you guys like to be challenged by cricket banter? No, we had supporters from other countries and anyone who wishes to discuss the game is welcome. I live in England and a bit of banter would be fantastic before the start of the series this summer but starting two threads in a space of a few minutes taking mindless digs at India does not give the impression that you're here to have a meaningful discussion. If you had started a thread about the series and mentioned that you thought that England had the edge, you might have got better responses. Let's face it, both teams are good neither team is a massive favourite going into the series. That is what makes it something that so many people are looking forward to.

I am sure you wont mind if I say you are entitled to your opinion. What you may not have considered is the choice of the topics and the slants that I put on them, may just have been deliberate? They were not mindless digs, pointed and inflammatory, but not mindless:haha:

wobblydoggy Posted June 14, 2011 Author Posted June 14, 2011 So you've just admitted that you were trolling. :fail: No, you do not understand. If you are entering on to a new site, which given the coming Tests etc, is likely to be a bit hostile. Why not stir up the pot a bit by posing some difficult questions. After all, both those topics ask difficult questions about Indian cricket. I was and am hoping to get some real banter going over the tests and so started off with a bit of fun. My god it is hard to get some people to relax
siddhu Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 hmmm. he says he supports England. But I smell a padosi here... PS. not actually "smell"... but you get the picture...:winky:
ganeshran Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 We will see after the test series if our bowlers are good enough :winky:
