Karan114 Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 His last tweet 3 hours ago reads: Good work and all the best for the future :two_thumbs_up: For the bolded part of the text :(( Damn...Raina v Badri for the no.6 spot is like choosing between the least worst, which is a real shame for the no.1 team which prides itself on its batting power.
gaurav92 Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Mukund Vijay Dravid Laxman Kohli Raina Dhoni Harbhajan Mishra Ishant Munaf
saneindian Posted June 17, 2011 Author Posted June 17, 2011 MSD will have to step up in the tests now and Bhajji will have to make crucial contributions with the bat. Too much inexperience in that batting line up. WOnder why they haven't thought about asking for Rohit yet. Should be a logical decision.
Karan114 Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 I think Parthiv might play instead of Mukund - with so many inexperienced players in the side already, they are unlikely to play an international debutant (all the more reason they should have selected Mukund for the ODI series). And I think Parthiv was picked partly for that reason in the squad - otherwise Saha had been our reserve Test keeper for a while.

You have to give yourself the best chance of winning the next Test match, not worrying about previous selections. At this point, Sharma would strengthen the Test side more than either Raina or Badri.
King Tendulkar Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Come on selctors!!! Wake up...Let him stay. Selectors did it rightly with laxman all those years back, now do it with Rohit.
Cricket Tragic Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Come on selctors!!! Wake up...Let him stay. Selectors did it rightly with laxman all those years back, now do it with Rohit. Really? Laxman was an epic failure in the ODI series against Aus/Pak.
King Tendulkar Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Really? Laxman was an epic failure in the ODI series against Aus/Pak. Still right decision after that magical knock in Oz, as showed total class. The decade plus of brillinace by VVS proved selctors 100% correct. Dont look at short term but long term. Laxy was the man and was right to stay. NOW SELECTORS GET ROHIT IN. Long term and short term it would be correct
Cricket Tragic Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Laxman didn't prove it even long-term in ODIs (for which he was asked to stay back).
sarcastic Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Laxman didn't prove it even long-term in ODIs (for which he was asked to stay back). :hmmm: As if Laxman has been fairly treated by the Indian selectors (or the great captain) as far as ODIs are concerned!!!
Cricket Tragic Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 :hmmm: As if Laxman has been fairly treated by the Indian selectors (or the great captain) as far as ODIs are concerned!!! I'll never forgive the selectors and Ganguly for not picking him in 2003. They picked losers like Bangar (based on 1 knock vs WI) and Mongia. However, no one can really say that he was a successful ODI player looking at his entire career.
King Tendulkar Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Anyway. For gods sake tell badrinath and Raina to go for a walk selctors. The future is Rohit and will never get better oppotunity to blood him with Kohli
