Sir john Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 The Indian Cricket Board has decided not to recommend the names of Amiesh Saheba and Sanjay Hazare for the coming season's ICC International Panel of umpires with only Shahvir Tarapore retaining his place. It has been learnt that the Umpires' Committee of BCCI has recommended the names of Sudhir Asnani and S Ravi (TV Umpire) instead of Saheba and Hazare. Both Saheba and Hazare has been in the 'International Panel' for quite some time but they failed to make it to the 'Elite Panel' with likes of Sri Lanka's Kumar Dharmasena who started much later making it to the top rung. Saheba's performance in particular had been pretty poor with lot of his decisions were way off the mark. There was nothing to write home about Hazare too. The committee took the decisions based on their performance evaluated by the ICC match referees. 51-year-old Saheba has officiated in three Test matches, 51 ODIs and four Twenty20s apart. He was in the panel of umpires who officiated during the World Cup. Hazare on the otherhand has officiated in 5 ODIs and one T20 International. 50-year-old Sudhir Asnani who has officiated in a couple ODIs back in 1998-99 finally made the cut into the International Panel after a long wait while Ravi is yet to make his international debut.
saneindian Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Long due. Saheba is pathetic and has ended many promising knocks in even domestic cricket. Hope Asnani and Ravi prove to be better than Saheba.
say2chander Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Both were pathetic. Remember Saheba's decision India vs NZ 2010 bangalore ODI. Didn't give rohit sharma out when clearly caught behind of vettori.
phaedrus Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Saheba has to be one of the worst umpires i have ever seen. Thought Hazare was ok in his first couple of matches but then it all went downhill. good move by the ICC
Sir john Posted June 20, 2011 Author Posted June 20, 2011 Bring back saheba :protest: :bye: :bye: saheba
yoda Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 I refuse to believe that the guys we send are the best available.
Arminder Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Saheba was comedian...... he used to give bad decision against Foreign countries then India....
Sid Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 I thought Hazare was a good umpire, but Saheba was truly a joker.
Arminder Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 I thought Hazare was a good umpire' date='but Saheba was truly a joker.[/quote'] i also agree Hazare was f9..... foreign players used to ask him lot of Questions & players were act like shockin after his decision but decision were gud & rite... i want him back.....:protest::protest::band:
rajmarie Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Thank good Saheba is out of the Intl panel. He is a joke
kabira Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 LOL clown Dharmasena is in elite and our guys can't get it there. Who were worst umpires in World Cup?? Why are they in Elite panel.
Utalk Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 With Doctrov and Dharmasena still there Saheba and Hazare must've been bad to lose their spots.
gakgupta Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Pathetic umpires.......just emphasis the fact that domestic statistics are not realistic measure for the talent.
Cricket Tragic Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Indian umpires are embarrassing. It's better not to have any on the international stage than to have useless ones.
