Which one of these 2 bowlers do you think is the greatest Right arm pace bowler ever to grace the crciket field. Come on guys...put on your thinking caps and start this jugalbandi Bring out the stats... Bring out the er... um... cricketing sensibilities... Lets discuss... I think quite a few have been better than Donald. Marshall definitely and maybe a few other of the West Indians. Tough pick between Marshall and McGrath imo.

Ambrose, Marshall, Hadlee etc all can be considered in this comparison.\ p.s. am now expecting Sir_AfRetard to come and say that Imran Khan was the greatest bowler ever :D

Are you talking only about recent fast bowlers? Otherwise, there are many like Marshall, Hadlee, Lillee, Imran...
No I am talking about all time... How would you prove / show that one of these bowlers were better than the others? even by a eeny meeny bit better... :hmmm:

I watched Ambrose do over Border in his 100th test yesterday. It was beautiful to watch, a well-directed, sharp bouncer, followed up with a yorker Border looked like a tailender :adore:

Go on the ESPN stats engine, pick the period/spell/teams in which certain bowlers didn't do that well and conclude that they're mediocre. "Lillee never used to perform against the West Indies. In 1984. In the second Test he had an average of 35....how crap is he?!" That's how it usually works on here, non?

You would go to stats guru and pull up reverse cumulative averages of the bowlers and then classify one of them as mediocre depending on the numbers crunched by cricinfo servers. :nice:

in case of Goddy, yes. In case of other players, even gully cricket records can be included to prove that they are greater than him.

If Ambrose could do-over Alan Border in his 100th test, then should he be defined as the world's best ever pace bowler. :hmmm:
