We shouldn't lose a Test this summer.

i was just thinking ... i mean how can we lose a Test match with this kind of a batting lineup.. sorry it is the obvious, but has there EVER been a better batting lineup? Sehwag. (Match-Winner) Gambhir. (Top-Class) Dravid. (The Wall) Sachin. (God) Laxman. (Very Very Special) Rohit/Yuvi/Kohli/Raina (they could ALL make the test lineup for ANY other country) Mahi. (cant say he's a great test batsman, but still he is Dhoni) how can a bowling lineup take 20 wickets, when this kind of a batting lineup is out their?.. so my point is, if we do lose a test this summer, or in australia, the blame should be on the batsman !.. i believe it comes down to bowlers if we are to Win test matches this year in Tests.

Playing WI is different from playing England. Yes the English media, their players and experts have been gloating a lot but they are a seriously wonderful test team now. Underestimating them could be dangerous. We will have to play very well to win this series. The teams look evenly matched and the difference could in the end be just one bad session throughout the series.

1. Sehwag is injured and not sure when he will be back. Even if he does remember the last SA tour or his performances in Eng? 2. Gambhir is good 3. Dravid has been on the decline recently 4. Tendulkar is as good as ever 5. Laxman has had injury issues (especially related to back) and hope he holds up 6. Eng and Aus would be a stern test for any one of those. I am surprized you didn't include Pujara in that list as he should be the one on the list after Raina 7. Dhoni is Dhoni In nutshell, we have a good batting lineup but we are prone to collapses and if we lose to Eng and Aus later this year it sure wouldn't be termed as "upset".

Well if we do the same with your bowling then you shouldnt win a test either Zaheer (good) Ishant (average) Kumar/Mithun (joke) Harbhajan (joke)

If Ishant's average and Kumar & Harbhajan a "joke" I wonder how the Eng bowling lineup measures up :hmmm:

They are really good in their own conditions.

Anderson (good) Tremlett (good) Swann (good) Broad (average/joke) You cant even defend Habhajan, he has been outbowled by a rookie like Bishoo by absolute miles he couldnt buy a wicket on a huge turner in Jamaica, and no offence to Kumar but anyone that bowls 75 mph is a joke and needs to get down the gym.

Ah git your logic... it's the pace that count! I wonder why they bother with wkts and stats when pace is all that matters and I guess PK should be debarred from the team. By the way the team for the Test will have Sreesanth instead of PK and seeing what Sreesanth has done to SA in the last couple of tours to SA I don't think he would be as big a joke as you would think. Now onto your analysis... Anderson - not as good as Zaheer Tremlett - so you think Tremlett is better than Ishant :giggle: Swann - Oh sure. I remember him not being able to defend 387 on a turner in India on a 5th day pitch. Broad - You got this spot on If you think a bowling lineup of Zaheer, Ishant, Sreesanth (with PK & Munaf on standby) will be a "joke" in England, I shudder to think what would happen to the Eng bowlers.

How did Swann do in Australia ? :hmmmm2:
