wobblydoggy Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 You wouldn't be playing it if we weren't funding the game. No as home of cricket you have no right to express anything. We've seen the results of you having your way, now get back in the corner and carry on being our b!tch (directed at ECB) Interesting View Point. Should BCCI continue to abuse its position you might find other Cricketing Nations banding together and acting against you. You could end up playing with yourself, literally. The results of us ruling cricket are that largely it became a game played throughout the English speaking world. (Americans don't speak English lol) We were benign in our approach, BCCI self interest is not benign IMHO

They're doing what they want and everyone is letting it happen i.e. Master and *****es My point was when you guys had the power, it was massively abused, BCCI has done a lot for cricket. But these days it just seems to be the easy target. Most people on here will tell you what a corrupt and pathetic bunch of people we have in that board, but these days they're receiving unjustified bad press

I am all for India shutting y'all out of our market. We will follow the American model as it suits our attitude more.

Are you telling me that when a great player is playing for another country that cricket lovers in India wont want to test Indias team against that team or player. Your point is ridiculous

(Americans don't speak English lol) We were benign in our approach, BCCI self interest is not benign IMHO And how again how BCCI abusing their position? I have asked many times for specifics and you have come up with zero! Seems you just doing wild accusations with no factual basis, to suit your jealous, envious agenda. I mean do we poach players from other countries with lucrative payments? No we dont!
King Tendulkar Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 Please clarify what BCCI is doing to harm world cricket. And please dont repeat the very inconsequential not fully accepting all of UDRS yet(which was approved by ICC vote not India dictating)? Seriously one other thing? The real cancer in cricket is England stealing other countries players. Nothing bigger then this in destroying world cricket. I mean grabbing SAs like Pieterson and Trott. And other foreigners like Prior, Strauss, Morgan and Kieswater. This is corruption by ECB as throwing big money contracts around to grab other countries players, disgusting! Ruining world cricket by buying players in.
Guest Gunner Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 Fine follow the US market and play India vrs India for every match. Are you telling me that when a great player is playing for another country that cricket lovers in India wont want to test Indias team against that team or player. Your point is ridiculous No it isn't.The US perspective is that in a country of 300 million we will find all the best players right there, if however that best player is from Colombia/Brazil we will offer them a contract to play in the US. A similar model with cricket is workable in India easily. I couldn't be arsed about what England does in any case, the British isles are irrelevant at best.
Guest Gunner Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 Not if they are playing badly in the future and lose their attraction to foreign news outlets Incorrect, it is the cricket viewing public in India that matters. From a business perspective, all we need to do is cater to them, which is what I expect the BCCI to do. Defend the interests of the cricket viewing public in India.

Guest Gunner Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 Tell me how we massively abused our position please? Well first of all there was that little shenanigan of sending a 44 year old Brian Close to bat against Michael Holding. :cantstop::cantstop:
asterix Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 Most of the cricket playing nations have their home grown talent representing them and provide the right parameter of that nations excellence in Cricket.. Sadly this England team is doing more harm and dis-service to cricket than any other team. For the sake of future of Cricket (especially Test cricket) I hope England team have only home grown talent and not borrowed talents..
Sachinism Posted July 29, 2011 Author Posted July 29, 2011 Tell me how we massively abused our position please? You had the control, what you said went. Everyone was at meetings just to show their faces. How often did England tour India before and how often did they call us over? Same with Aus? Now look at how many series' we play. Can't play spin, oh well we'll label those pitches unsporting and tell them the real test is swinging, bouncy conditions. I don't want to go on making a list, but stop being naive and accept most people in charge abuse it.
asterix Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 I wonder why the SKY TV commentators always mention MRF Blimp during their commentary? Is MRF some Britich company? What is MRF? WHere did this Blimp came from and why Holding, Bumble, Atherton, Hussain, Sir Botham are mentioning about this Blimp, all the time?
