Well done. I wouldn't really say England are number 1 (since guys like Trott/Morgan etc aren't English, don't consider themselves English), but they are the best team in the world right now.

Why? You think Eoin Morgan calls himself an Englishman? I'm not being facitious in pointing out several members of the England team feel the same way. No doubt they are the best team in the world but it's hardly an English team. It was only a few years ago when former English players were talking about the same thing and the need for England to produce/raise more English test quality cricketers. Now with all the success they are having all that talk seems to have died down.

It is the team of close English lineage that plays for us. I have no problem with that, it seems you only have a problem with it when we kick your ****. Also Ireland is very much part of the United Kingdom in the north

Well, that's pretty much false as well. Eoin Morgan doesn't have any English lineage. As far as having a problem with it now? Well that's wrong as well. I've been saying for a number of years how Ireland are going to find it very difficult to gain test level status when England keep poaching their best players. You're welcome to do a search on this forum and find my previous posts. Again, I'm not saying this now or to undermine this team's success. They're a top side but it's not an English team. And finally, Ireland is NOT part of the UK. It's called Northern Ireland for a reason.

Before I posted it, I looked up the caste system, which apparrently is still very much alive. A fact I found surprising given the upward mobility of your nation in the world these days. Living in a democracy where all are supposedly equal, I found that disturbing. However, if anyone belongs in a caste below the lowest it is The Wall poster on here. Who it appears wishes me dead, just for caring about my team:((

That is easy for you to say living in a country twenty times our size. We work within the rules set by the ICC, if you dont like the ruiles, change them lets face it you have the ICC in your pocket

Don't worry about it wobblydoggy, things get said on forums that are completely unnecessary. But back to the point: I'm not saying anything new or radical concerning the influence of non english players in the side. But don't take my word for it: Here's Michael Atherton's opinion only a few years ago:

"There is another reason why the achievement of Collingwood's team would not have gone down in English folklore: people do not generally regard this England team as an 'English' team. What is English is a profoundly difficult question ... England's 'foreign legion' have the opportunity and freedom to make their careers here. In that sense, the team does reflect something of the country. "But the public are not fools. They know that the team is not representative of the health of the English game in general, and that without Michael Lumb, Craig Kieswetter, Eoin Morgan and Kevin Pietersen, who learnt their cricket elsewhere, England's batting would have a far more anaemic look. In that sense, they will not be loved as the heroes of 1966 (World Cup football winning team) were," Atherton said.
http://t20wc.timesofindia.indiatimes.com/articleshow/5941932.cms So how or why is it crap to call it like it is? Again, I'm not saying anything new or something that hasn't been raised before in English quarters. The only difference NOW it seems is that the same folks (like Atherton) are too busy glorying over this team's number 1 status to clarify that it's not actually an English team.

The caste system is alive, but is progressing towards becoming a social grouping rather than a hierarchical system where one caste is considered superior to others. Regardless, the word untouchable has rather inappropriate connotations and its usage is an offence under Indian law. A permissible term is Dalits, but the better alternative is not to bring in such terms in a cricket forum.

That's not the point, and you pretty much know it. I directly refuted your claims about the legitimacy of this side being known as an England team and you're backtracking. Again, there's no shame in it, the ECB are consciously allowing the loophole because they are benefitting from it. I'm merely pointing it out like others have done for a long while. Don't shoot the messenger.
