yoda Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 Absolutely deserved. Their bowling has been awesome and their batting has made our bowling look third class.

Moncy Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 If they are to prove that they are truly the best side in the world, then they should beat SA in their den by a large margin. I seriously doubt it will happen. Dale Steyn will maul Cook and the gang into pieces  Hey, I live in South Africa :D :D :D COME ON!!!! I WANT REVENGE!!!
Sidhoni Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 :congrats: We will see u and take revenge when u visit us!! :ohyeah:
saneindian Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 The way they have vanquished Australia and India has been amazing. Bowling looks amazing, Batting is perhaps the strognest in the world right now especially with a tail that doesn't have a weak batsman till number 9. The two worries for them would be Strauss (averages 34 in the last 2 years and is on decline) and Swann (31 wickets @36 since the Ashes in 11 tests). Would be interesting to see how they cope when they tour the sub continent where their bowlers will not be as effective as they were at home. Additionally theiur number 1 rank also depends a lot on how SA play. They beat the Aussies 2-0 and then win against the Lankans in their next series and they could go right to the top even before England play their next series.
Cricket Tragic Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 They will carry Strauss as long as the team is winning even if he only averages 30 odd. SA might be a better team but they will get screwed if Steyn gets injured. I hope he remains fit because the world of cricket needs him. They should beat SL easily and you have to back them to beat Australia as well.
Ultimate_Game Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 Congratulations Eng and Eng fans... for the series win and also for becoming Test no. 1 in ICC Test rankings. Eng has played much better cricket and has easily been the much better side. To guys/gals like wobblydoggy, Serani, Maundy Gregory and other Eng fans, congratulations. I remember how poor Eng used to be in 90s and it must feel good to be top of the rankings after enduring those times. Your team has been great and you definitely have a cricket team to be proud of. Enjoy the win and the ranking :two_thumbs_up: As for India, I don't really know what to make of it. They simply haven't shown up this series and looks like they took their eyes of the ball after the WC win and simply showed up for the series, and full marks to Eng to put India away - it's not their fault that India didn't show up and they did what they had to do, and they did it comprehensively. For me, and I am sure for most Indian fans, Aus series later this year takes added significance. If India loses that series as well comprehensively that would mean India is in decline, but if they manage to beat Aus in Aus the home series against Eng would be something to look forward to.
Jersey #10 Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 Don't you think there would be existing threads for this? It's been two days since the test ended. What's wrong with you? go post in the already existing thread. No need to create a new thread for all of your brain farts...
