Who cares what Flintoff's preparation routines were like - he is bang on the money here. Winning and losing is a part of sport. You enjoy the wins and are disappointed at the losses, but the one thing you expect from your team at all times is to give it their very best shot. If that isn't good enough, tough, but at least you know you made the opposition work hard to beat you. On this tour, India simply haven't been giving it their best (take nothing away from England of course), which is a slap on the thousands of fans who shelled out good money to watch them in England in particular. Sure, defeats are demoralizing but India's attitude has been poor from even before the series, and the chief culprit is the BCCI, who prioritizes the IPL and ends up harming India's Test cricket because of it.

However, he most certainly is correct: India do look uninterested, unfit and unprofessional. I watched the Eng team out here last year and the thing that struck me most was their professionalism. They were sharp in the field, hurried to their positions and were ready to go. They were well prepared and well organised.

Did you even read my posts? I never disagreed with his/tuffnell's comments, merely pointing out that I don't consider them qualified in any fashion to comment on the subject. Now if they guys like Anderson/Collingwood making those remarks then yes, it would carry more weight.

agreed. i can't remember an instance when a team goes from being the world's best team to the world's laughing stock in a matter of a few months. i mean it has to be some kind of record to turn from heros into jokers in such a short span of time. i mean even the 83 team kept up the winning habits for a couple of years after.

How does it matter what Flintoff did during his playing days ? Even if a Non-cricketer had made similar observations , they would still be valid. The only thing one should ask is if his observations are based on FACTS .

In the stock market ,Stocks which are overvalued & overhyped tend to correct very strongly during a downturn. I would say the it is same case for the team. They were overhyped and overvalued.

We can't really disagree with what Flintoff, Tufnell or others said. Everyone can have a field day at our cost and we really are in no position to do anything about it. The earliest we can get our back is if we beat Aus in Aus and comprehensively beat Eng when they tour India next - I hope we play on minefields so that there's no chance of a draw. As for taking shots at Flintoff and Tufnell it's akin to shooting the messenger. We deserve the flak we are getting and hope BCCI and team management have learnt some valuable and long-lasting lessons.
