I know. I think he will accept the job of coach. Imo, Wasim and Srinath would be good choice. First job of selectors - Give them a bunch of young bowlers who are willing to learn and put some effort even if they don't have much skills. Wasim - If he can become coach of KKR, then why not Indian team. Somehow this guy finds potential in every bowler and despite their sever limitations he can tell them 100 areas of improvement. He is very experienced and knows a lot about bowling. He has faced probably all kinds of situations in his career. Other factors that goes in his favor is that he knows Indian cricket very well. He knows about Indian bowlers. What they can do and what they can't. His few comments about Ishant - Ishant bowls wide of crease. If he can come closer to stumps, then he can be very effective as he will get more LBWs with his natural inswing. Wasim told his experience when he was trying to do the same. He used to put a cone in the middle of crease and try to bowl withing that. He did that for 2 months and changed it. This was not easy. That's the way Ishant can become more effective with his natural ability. Just goes to show that he not only knows areas of improvement, but he also knows how to do it as he has done it himself in his career. He is aware of difficulties associated with it. Wasim can teach lot of skills which he developed in his career. Srinath Srinath never dropped pace and he was probably best pacer after Kapil. He will get more acceptance among bowlers and he can work with Indian bowlers in a better way. With appointment of such coaches, they should be given more power. Separate coach for spinners India needs to maintain it's spin department. This is one area where India can't complain like fast bowlers' case. There should be a group of 4-5 professionals which can be called as assistant coaches who would look after the pool of (6-7) bowlers in India. Whatever the main coach will decide for a bower, it would be duty of assistant to look after these bowlers. BCCI has lot of money and it's time that they spend it on development of players.
no wasim would destroy ishant, you have to respect each bowlers style ishant tried to come closer to stumps and he lost his line .his wrist is not loose now as it was when he came in and seamed the ball in.now he is straight up and down

Bigger question is BCCI uses the same criteria to sack Eric SImons which it has used to sack Robin and Venky? They were sacked because we didn't fare well in 20-20 worldcup where no amount of coaching can help a bowler. Most ridiculous thins is they were informed of sacking through media. Here this is the biggest debacle Indian cricket has faced over long time, what action does BCCI take?

I don't know what makes your above posts about Kirsten sacking Prasad for his buddy Simmons more idiotic: 1. The fact that the BCCI officially said that the coach(Kirsten) and captain(Dhoni) had NOT been consulted when they sacked Prasad. 2. Or the fact that you're basing it on Prasad being non white.

As mohinder amarnath said he needs to buy fair and lovely to coach india .its been seen time and again we prefer foreigners you have no credibility over indian guys who have credibililty .if venky was sacked after t20 .eric simmons would have been sacked after wi t20 but he was a sa.

You said that Kirsten sacked Prasad because he was non white. Now that I provided a direct quote from the BCCI saying where the captain/coach were not consulted in the sacking of Prasad you completely change your story to how simmons was chosen. You're basic comprehension sucks.

What are u talking about .this is the official line by bcci and there i no mention that coach and captain were not asked and its highly unlikely coach and captain. Input will not be asked of a who they want as bowling coach or who they did not. Official response- Chennai, Oct 15 (ANI): The Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) on Thursday relieved bowling coach Venkatesh Prasad and fielding coach Robin Singh from their services. In a statement to the media BCCI Secretary N Srinivasan said: ŵhe BCCI has decided to discontinue the services of bowling coach Venkatesh Prasad and fielding coach Robin Singh with immediate effect. The BCCI has offered no clear explanation for their sudden sacking. Though the BCCIÃÔ decision came as a surprise, both Prasad and Singh were under the scanner after IndiaÃÔ dismal show in the Twenty20 World Cup and last monthÃÔ Champions Trophy. Reacting to the sacking, Prasad said he was disappointed. Ūf this is true, I am disappointed, Prasad said. Prasad also claimed that the he has not received any official information from the BCCI on the matter. (ANI) here is what srinivasan said about bowling coach appointment - Eric Simons appointed as India's bowling consultant K Shriniwas Rao, TNN Jan 11, 2010, 02.10pm IST Tags: Venkatesh Prasad| Gary Kirsten MUMBAI: Former South African medium-pacer Eric Simons has been appointed the new 'short-term' bowling consultant to replace Venkatesh Prasad, who was sacked in October. Simons has flown to Bangladesh to be with the team but his stint is not expected to last for more than a month. This follows another temporary appointment, that of fielding consultant Mike Young, for the home series against Sri Lanka. With just a year left for the 2011 World Cup, India's bowling and fielding have been a cause for serious concern. The BCCI's decision to have consultants and not full time coaches thus seems baffling. Soon after Australian Young finished his stint, captain MS Dhoni had made it aptly clear that the team was in need of full time coaches. " Gary Kirsten has to handle the entire workload,'' he said before the team left for Bangladesh. Despite the skipper's remarks, the BCCI has invited a consultant yet again. However, the president of the Board, Shashank Manohar, does have an answer for these 'experiments'. "The idea to have consultants is to see whether they suit the needs of the team and players. The common objective is definitely to have long-term coaches but for that we need to have a good understanding of the team's requirements,'' Manohar told TOI on Monday. The BCCI chief isn't duly worried about how the constant change of coaches (or consultants) might be confusing for the players. "The coach, players and BCCI all contribute together in making these decisions. But finally, it is the players' perspective that is considered. If they feel that we need to look further (than just the current consultant) then we will definitely do so. In the end, we need to have the right people in place,'' says the president. The BCCI has appointed Simons till the end of India's home series against South Africa. Meanwhile, nothing has been officially confirmed as far as retaining Young's services or if India is looking ahead to another consultant in the fielding department. India's bowling and fielding departments have been inconsistent ever since the ICC World Twenty20 last June in England. Following that unsuccessful outing, injuries (in case of Zaheer Khan), lack of form (Ishant Sharma) and poor fielding has been an unwanted highlight. In October last year, following a string of unsatisfying performances, BCCI unceremoniously sacked bowling coach Prasad and fielding coach Robin Singh. With the big names that had been in contention for the bowling coach's role ¼Ã¼¤llan Donald among others - Simons' appointment was a surprise. chittagong: Eric Simons, Team IndiaÃÔ newly-appointed bowling consultant, will basically be an Ã…Ãbserver during the first Test against Bangladesh, which begins here on Sunday. Simons, South AfricaÃÔ coach for around two years from late 2002, is due to reach Chittagong on the morning of Day I. Ŧric will essentially be an observer here... HeÃÃl need time to settle down and to understand the players, coach Gary Kirsten told The Telegraph. Kirsten added: Ŧric comes with high credentials... He was very good as South AfricaÃÔ coach and has worked in the corporate world, too... IÃÎ happy that heÃÔ coming on board and, yes, IÃÃl now be able to focus on the areas that I really want to. Mahendra Singh Dhoni and his men have been without a specialist bowling coach/consultant ever since Venkatesh PrasadÃÔ sacking three months ago. Kirsten pointed out that Simons, an all-rounder who played 23 ODIs for South Africa in the mid-Nineties, had been the coach during the closing stages of his own career as an opener. Ū do know what EricÃÔ capable of doing and it will be helpful that heÃÔ served as the coach at the international level, Kirsten said. Kirsten didnot deny that he strongly recommended Simons to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). In fact, there were a few names which were forwarded to the BCCI, he maintained. According to Kirsten, Simons is going to be closely involved with the planning from the lead up to the second and final Test, in Dhaka, from January 24. For now, the 47-year-old Simons will be with Team India till the end of the home series (Tests and ODIs) against South Africa, next month. :giggle: stop pretending that eric simmons deserves the job with out any qualifications.now fletcher will appoint a zim as indias bowling coach

Stop posting rubbish.
i am just sating what former indian cricketers have said including gavaskar, amarnath and it is not difficult to prove why venky was sacked after t20 debacle and eric simmons was not sacked after debacle in t20 wi.its just because he is a foreigner and what qualification he has to coach india.if you do not like it get out mate Former Pakistan captain and left arm fast bowler, Wasim Akram, has doubts over the appointment of Eric Simons as bowling coach for India. Akram, who is currently with the Kolkata Knight Riders team in the IPL as bowling coach, was amazed at the BCCI’s decision to appoint Simons for the two Test series against Bangladesh and South Africa. Akram apparently reacted to reports of Simons’ appointment with “Kaun hai yeh banda?” (who is this guy? literally translates). But perhaps Akram was more interested in the credentials of the former South African cricketer. Akram was critical on a couple of decisions related to Simons’ appointment, questioning the BCCI and other Indian boards over their penchant for foreign coaches when local coaches could have given a better insight and interacted with players in the local language. He also raised questions over how a foreign coach (in this case, South African Gary Kirsten) recommended a fellow compatriot for the support staff roles. Was he referring also to John Buchanan who had an Australian entourage, including his son, on board while coach of the Shah Rukh Khan owned team? This is called milking .

Cricket God, your postings are starting to make your godliness pretty odinary. You have still to make a post that backs up what you said earlier: Eric Simmons was hired because he was white, and ... Foot in mouth disease must run in the family.

No one gives a crap how/why Simmons was hired. The question is why/how you think Kirsten sacked Prasad. THE ONLY reasons you've provided are that Prasad was non white which is about as stupid as it gets. Making allegations of racism with no evidence or proof except your own imagination is what makes your posts such useless nonsense.

Also, make up your damn mind already. You open one thread where you praise the team and say we shouldn't over react, and this was just one bad series after a lot of success:

This team has Played well for past 4 years' date='this is a just a bad series where everything could go wrong did go wrong and in a way it is good as we will plan for future as we were just trodding along .Fact is we have not had a full strength team in any series for last 2 years .we need planning and introspection but not to panic.[/quote'] And then you go and create another thread asking Simmons to be sacked because Kirsten sacked Prasad as he is not white? So you're saying let's no over react towards the team, but at the same time Kirsten was racist and sacked Prasad and now Simmons should be sacked. :hysterical:

Haaaahaaaa ,you yourself said bcci said sacked prasad with out asking dhoni or kirsten.now you are changing the point as I showed you the proof. I said eric simmons will not be sacked as he is a white and it will proved as we have double standards for foreigners and indians .venky was sacked after bad t20 performances and eric simmons had had a worse series and keeps his place if this is not enough proof of double standards then what is and if you do not agree with views of akram, gavaskar, amarnath then I feel sorry for you if you really think there is no foreigner baised in bcci and I believe as you follow indian cricket in your heart you know what the truth is. And regarding my thread I support the indian team but not some guy who has not played even a test and failed with sa team with handle our bowlers.

We're still waiting on any evidence you have regarding Kirsten sacking Prasad himself because he was non white (as you directly said before). Still no proof, no evidence, just your own twisted, ignorant imagination of calling someone a racist with no factual evidence or proof. That pretty much makes you a lying cricket_donkey.
