Cheating third umpire

As I said' date=' he's been treated as a janitor of the team to protect some glory hunting players.. He batted the whole day and played a long innings only to be asked to come out again to open the innings. As if he as taken the contract of saving the collective arses of some players who can't be bothered or asked to change their batting positions.. Fecking they were playing their last innings on English soil and still thinking of saving their arses..[/quote'] Dravid was fantastic, both in application and spirit. He had just batted the whole innings. Unless Gambhir was severely injured, he should have taken his place as opener

In what way? The 3rd ump saw a deviation and hence gave Dravid out. Dravid later confirmed that he had indeed nicked it.
Even if he saw it, it wasn't conclusive. I have yet to hear anybody say it was conclusive.

Perhaps there wasn't enough evidence, but I thought I clearly saw an edge? Questionable, but calling umpire a cheat etc is totally unwarranted, in my opinion. Did they ask Dravid if he nicked it? PS: Awesome innings by RSD

And India are used to having the rules bent to suit them.
It was bent to suit the England, the decision should have been retained with on-field umpire since there wasn't any sufficient evidence to overturn the decision

If there was a deflection, hot spot should have picked it up. Even Snicko did not pick it up. I haven't watched much of this test match and today I had a feeling Sehwag and Dravid will give us 100+ start.. and this is what I had to see..OMFG. If I was umpire, I would even have given Raina Benefit of Doubt in first innings.

There was no clear deflection or hotspot or snicko to overturn the umpire's decision. It is a measure Dravid's honesty and integrity that he admitted to nicking the ball even though there was no clear evidence of the same. However, this puts into question the effectiveness of technology in general given the inability to detect the nick, and also why didnt the third umpire follow the set protocol in place as per UDRS.

The most annoying thing about such decisions is - they got what the wanted and now rest can just ***** and moan about it - but nothing will change :(( Which proves nothing but - everything is fair in war... and :finger: to 'spirit of game' crap. And someone, somewhere, some time in future will take the liberty once again.

There was no way dravid could have been given out. Please the gut feeling holds true only for the on field umpires and the TV umpire should not give decissions without clear evidence.
