Decline?MS Dhoni could never bat in the first place.

I'd definitely won't pay a penny to watch MSD but he is certainly effective. The problem with some of these guys that just whack the balls without having a workable basic technique is that often under testing conditions their batting will fall flat on its face. It's like building an empire state building without foundation. The likes of Dhoni, Raina, Kohli and the rest have very dodgy foundation. Their exploits will be mostly on wickets that have no lateral movement and no swing in the air.

Wow' date=' fans can be so fickle sometimes. He still had a decent series with the bat despite all his limitations as a batsman, and is a gutsy character. I'm not claiming he's tactical genius or anything, but the guy does just fine as skipper. He's the best choice we have. Stick with him.[/quote'] :two_thumbs_up::two_thumbs_up:

However where the ball doesn't move around like England or some pitches in NZ and SA, he is going to murder the opposition. I am fairly sure that he will do well on the true bouncy pitches of Oz.

experience counts to nothing if you don't have a proper technique to counter difficult conditions...
technique is overrated, its more mental he has to leave the balls which are way outside offstump,

Are you talking about Mahela? BTW MSD has a better batting average than Sanga in England and New Zealand, and a better average than Mahela in Eng, SA and NZ!

technique is overrated' date='its more mental he has to leave the balls which are way outside offstump,[/quote'] why do you think he skips down the wicket every now and then, simultaneously going towards the off side?? to negate any movement on offer, and play the ball to the leg side, that's why. he does that because he is aware of the fact that his technique is not good enough to counter swing and seam. the drawback is, he has to play at deliveries which are way outside off stump because of the final position he ends up in. it's all got something to do with technique, more or less...

ehh why do you have to bring that FTB into this discussion?? sanga, well, you know from inside who is the better batsman. don't make a joker out of yourself.

Strauss and cook,kp have technical problems against left armers and when ball is pitches up but they have mental strength to do so.many batsman have had technical problems but have overcome that with mental strength.
