Ultimate_Game Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Well he stil managed to score 200+ runs in the series, keep wkts and bowl a few overs as well. If our batsmen had shown similar amount of effort things could have been different.

One of our highest run getters in the 2007 series. Opened the innings alongwith Jaffer and played crucial knocks. He was dropped because of his mediocre performances back home .

Start the replacement in tests, firstly and wait to see if Dhoni's batting improves. If not, chuck him out of the test team and get a specialist keeper if it has to come to that. In 20 million cricketers domestically, there has got to be one. Now repeat the same exercise for the ODI team. Dhoni fans: Don't worry. He is still captain of the Chennai SuperKings IPL team. That's what matters at the end of the day doesn't it? :yay:

He still had a decent series with the bat despite all his limitations as a batsman, and is a gutsy character. I'm not claiming he's tactical genius or anything, but the guy does just fine as skipper. He's the best choice we have. Stick with him.
