Yes, MSD did make some runs despite lack of technique, but please - this is no comparison really. Even in terms of wicket-keeping Sanga will be ahead of MSD. There are serious concerns in the ability of MSD as Test-level batsman.

As keeper-batsman, this is how Sanga's record looks like 48 tests, 3117 runs@40, home avg of 44, away avg of 36 His averages against various countries Aus - 14 ( avg of 1 in Aus) SA- 25 (33 in SA) India- 40 (25 in India) England- 34 (30 in England) Pakistan- 98 (131 in Pak) WI- 52 (12 in WI) NZ- 22 in NZ BD- 34 (38 in BD) Zim- 63 Now you decide who is being a joker. BTW didn't Sanga ask Dilshan to keep in a test vs NZ when Prasanna was injured recently?

And kartik cannot keep to spinners ,saha is a prospect but he has to improve his batting

(please note that hitting yourself out of danger is not really on in test cricket)

And who exactly started preaching about difficult conditions and all that jazz? The fact that Sanga asked Dilshan to keep in a test match shows you why its not easy being a captain-keeper-batsman in test matches. But hey that's well beyond the cerebral limits of trolls like you.

(please note that hitting yourself out of danger is not really on in test cricket)[/quote'] By kp I meant he does not have the perfect technique but use his strength and mental strength to plan for bowlers .dhonis technique is not bad he is good against short ball ,his problem is outside off stump and shot selection .which he has to work on and its not like he has not scored runs in england or sa and he comes at no 7 and in india its important no 7 is good against spin.

achilles Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 I would agree with Finey. Sangakkara is a better keeper and batsman than Dhoni in Tests. Dhoni is a good leader though.
