that Dravid is better than Sachin in English conditions. Unbelievable that Sachin hasn't scored a test ton in England since the 2002 tour. A place he used to love batting in.

Forget tons, Dravid scored just 126 runs in six innings in 2007 series! It was good for him (unfortunately not for team) that his renaissance with the bat coincided with this much hyped series. If Sachin was a total failure in previous tours, you had a point but that's not the case. He proved himself in English conditions in 1990, 1996,2002 and 2007 (no centuries but played few important knocks). btw there's no competition between the two on South African and Australian pitches.

Dravid is second only to bradman in english conditions in terms of average:two_thumbs_up:...so obviously he is way better than SRT in english conditions

Indian fans are so fickle. What i don't under stand is that why fans of Dravid look to belittle the achievements of Sachin and vice versa. Both play and score their runs for India. They are 2 of the greatest sevants to the Indian cricket team. No matter what they achieve in their careers from here they should be celebrated.

Didn't SRT's first century come in England, that too in a match saving effort (or almost) - batting with tail.

im not belittling at all. the point needs to be made though that in english conditions, dravid is sublime. dravid and then daylight

More importantly, Dravid and Tendulkar have both been superb overall away from the subcontinent. Contrast that with Virender Sehwag: 29 Tests, average of 36, almost as many ducks (7) as 50+ scores (10). Not including Zimbabwe.

It's only this tour that Sachin failed. In 2007, his role was undermined. He played 2 very crucial knocks. Infact since RD was woefully out of form, he played a sheet anchor role as well, taking blows on the body 2-3 times. And this time RD filled in for Sachin by scoring 3 tons. It's a team game, and this is how it should be played. Both are masters which we should cherish. They have played for so long that they are beyond comparisions and all.

I can make a point that on certain conditions, on one certain pitch, Bhajji is great than any batsman but what will I prove. That bhajji and then daylight under a certain set of conditions? Or Sehwag and then daylight in Multan? Or Afridi and then daylight in Kanpur? When you say English conditions, does throught the agse all pithces in England stay/have stayed the same? In some of our series, the pitches were flat, in some they had a lot

1990- FLAT FLAT pitches 1996- reasonably damp wickets 2002- only headingly was damp, so pretty good for batting 2007-first two wickets were green 2010- good wickets for the majority of the tests sachin has played all of those series, 17 tests. and got a ton on the 1990, 1996 and 2002 tours. 3 tons in 17 matches dravid has played 14 matches and scored 6 tons, and twice been head and shoulders above the rest. he has played pivotal innings when the pitches were at their most dangerous. dravid wont always score the most runs but his time spent in the middle is invaluable. look at the durban rout of 1996. his 27 was so skillful, on an horrible pitch for indian batsman.

Tendu fans will never agree that RD can be better than him under any condition. When SRT's performance dips they will claim that RD and SRT are both greats and we shouldn't be comparing them. When SRT fires, they will start 100 threads about his greatness, making other players look like peons.

That is sad about any internet forum. However that said there is no point in being abusive to him is there? You have made your point about Dravid's superiority over SRT in England.
