People from Kerala takes plenty of beef .Well that may be the reason for a small state like Kerala is producing so many good athelets and footballers B/w i think Sreesanth is a veggie

Come to Kerala, you can find people eating Appam and Beef roast from 7 am in the morning itself! Beef and Kerala Parotta is our state dish and 90% of the keralites (including non-brahmin Hindus too!) eat beef. AFAIK, Beef is widely available in Goa, Bengal and North-East.

Beef theory may not be true but it is fact that majority of Indian children lack protein in their growth age Which is very important if you want to become Athlete
They have plenty of resources available once they are cricketers...whether it is 24 hour access to a gym, personal trainer, guidance on nutrition, biomechanics, videos, it's all there. Just have to utilise it. India has not produced a genuine quick in modern time. Srinath in early years was quickish. I think Varun and Yadav are much quicker than past bowlers.

Its got nothing to do with Beef as such..but good nutrition and following a proper fitness regimen.Chicken and Fish can provide the same protein...

Oysters are known to act as Aphrodisiacs...probably explains why you are this way :giggle:
Beef and oyesters are rich in testosterone. There is a reason why i eat thest things deliberately. U can find food which are rich in protein, but u will have to eat meat to get the testosterone and protein in natural way. Leave few body builders here in this forum, they might have take steroids to increase the testosterone, but if u wanna be a sportsperson u should be ready to compromise and eat meat,esp beef and oyesters because of the high amount of testosterone.

Yoda Bro, my post was in reply to Tiger80. I am hardcore beef-eater like most of the Malayalis but even I don't think it has any magical properties as our padosis claim.:--D Fish is the best non-vegetarian dish available in the world and a balanced diet and scientific fitness regime is all we need. A good article by Australian Institute of Sports about how you can be a successful vegetarian athlete: http://www.ausport.gov.au/ais/nutrition/factsheets/special_diets2/vegetarian_eating

Most testosterone rich foods contain zinc which is also present in high protein foods like chicken & nuts etc.So one does not need to necessarily eat Oysters & Beef for this. Besides just eating high T foods does not necessarily increase your T levels.That also depends on your body makeup and daily work load. A good diet (high in protein as well as complex carbs) combined with cardio and gym is ideal for atheletes.Depending on their sport, they need to do functional workouts as well.

I agree, but most of the indian cricketers or the emerging fast bowlers are not aware of zinc rich foods which can stimulate the natural testosterone production. Nuts and few veg foods are rich in zinc but mostly indian foods dont include these zinch rich veg foods. But eating beef or fish or atleast chicken meat everyday from childhood will give the necessary protein and T for the kids when they grow esp. when u dont know which kid is going to be a fast bowler or athlete when they grow up. But dont worry, there is a solution for the athletes who are veggies and if they are looking for increasing Testostore naturally there is a herbal product which is available in market. The herbal is called "tribulus terristris" which was used by the bulgarian weight lifting team and they stunned the world when they won the olympic medals using it in the early 1970s(google it if u dont believe me) The herbal is availble in india's herbal medical shops too. I have recommended this to few of my juniors who are veggies. I have done lot research on this bro. Good luck.:two_thumbs_up:

They have plenty of resources when they are cricketers but what about when they are becoming cricketers ? I read in one article that Mfuneko Ngam started developing stress fractures and doctors said that Childhood Nutritional deficancies could be one of the reason for this. I think to be a great fast bowler you need 1) Genetics 2) Physique 3)Talent 4)Hard work and then then role of diet comes

Well I feel Diet is just one piece of puzzle that leads to a Genuine Pace bowler. Good physique to begin with exercise ,bench workout,toning,training etc :(( and last but not least professional guidance once he emerges in international cricket scene...otherwise we will continue to see Balajis,Sharmas, Sreesanths, R P Singhs ...list is endless

Carb-loading FTW! B->
Test cricket fast bowling (plus fielding) is endurance thing. I do not think effects of carb loading can last that long... for ODI and T20 it can work. Btw - is Creatine legal in sports? If so, then it might work better/longer than carb-loading. R-ALA also supposed to help push harder and is an excellent anti-oxidant too. Also, too much muscle is also not sustainable for test fast bowling.

i think we first need a real decent fast bowler.. obviously not at the level of marshall or even lee but atleast the level of fleming and who can bowl 90 mph regularly.. we have yet to produce one iconic fast bowler

Diet is a huge problem and I dont know why people get so offended at this. A vegetarian lifestyle is better if you want a healthier longer life. However if you want to be strong and have the energy to fast bowl you need to eat a proper diet. Its bad enough if a "fast" bowler in India wants to reject red meat like beef but so many are pure vegetarians. Lets not get offended, England, Australia, Pakistan, West Indies, South Africa all have faster bowlers than India.....it obviously has something to do somewhat with the diet. Why else would they all have faster bowlers than India? There is no use hiding our heads in the sand. And for those of you saying beef is easy to find...where exactly is this? I've travelled all over North India and never seen it.

Actually Lanka and Bangladesh also never produced great fast bowlers and they too eat meat ,the only mystery is Pakistan as North Indian share same genetics with them ,the only difference is their diet so I too believe that diet has something to do with it

I don't think cow beef is available in North India easily But buffalo meat is available in muslim area's ,apart from that some hi fi stores sell imported canned beef at very high rate

And India has like 20 times the population of these countries so WTF happened to all the fast bowlers?
