keyboardist Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 Beef, Lamb or Chicken.....Munaf is not going to have any change in his constitution or pace. Because, he is a damn monolith http://www.thecricketist.com/2011/09/don-donkey-complains-to-nasser-hussain.html
Rightarmfast Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 I wanna repeat again. Indian punjabi r no less than the Pakustsni punjabis and in touch sports we own them in both Kabbadi n boxing. So again cut this beef n meat crap. Fact is the mentality of Indians towards pace bowling. If a pacer bowls more than a wide in search for that exttra pace in club cricket in India' date=' he gets ridiculed n removed from attack. I have played with both groups n can tell u all Pakistanis wanna see is pace bowling. They don't care if u get smashed or not. Try using the sane logic with Indians. U r telling me M Amir in anyway looks stronger than VRV Singh or P Kumar yet that guy clocks 140s consistently. Why jus cuz as a kid he was told to bowl fast. That's it.[/quote'] +1...Well said..Thats the point I have been trying to make for a long time.
MCcricket Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 The most common problem with Indian fast bowlers is their fitness, not having the stamina and core strength or fitness to bowl at their peak for long enough time in their career, exception being Zaheer, Sreenath, Zaheer during his county stint and also due to his knowledge of his body AFTER INJURY and fitnesss requirements has been able to bowl at more or less uniform pace averaging 136 and highest being 147 I believe.Sreesanth , RP Singh , Nehra dont have the fitness to bowl at their peak for long enough time in their career,Ishant , Irfan having problems with their fitness and their action causing them to loose their pace but they have come back stronger I think. Most Indian bolwers are rhythm bowlers, unlike Australian or English bowlers, Varun Aaron , Umesh Yadav, Manpreet Gony, Sudeep Tyagi being the stronger ones, Pankaj Singh if he was a English player would be playing in the team and bowling at 135 to 142, as his action could be tweaked and he could be more stronger getting more speed and bounce making him a good bowlers, flaws in his action are obvious.Seeing Pradeep Sangwan who has worked on his strength and action , you can see him bowl better, same could be done to VRV Singh.Bowlers need to have the killer instinct more then anything else, Zaheer, ishant have it, some one like Ian PONT CAN MAKE A HUGE DIFFERENCE HERE.
MCcricket Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 Diet is a factor but not the main , most important is the intent, Lillee, Bond, Brett Lee had career threatening injuries, more then one, but they came back strongly , did not under sell themselves and their team.Take Munaf, Balaji shouldve recuperated,Sreesanth, Rp , none of them had a really career threatening injury , so they are to be blamed for not trying hard enough. They should be told what is expected of them, also speed is a good indicator of a bowler's rhythm fitness and effectiveness ,so it should be a criteria in selection, if they are bowling at their peak speed or not. Also captain not having faith in his bowlers and himself ridiculing his pace bowlers not having pace , why doesnt he see how the same bowlers bowled in Australia , where they outpaced the aussies.Irfan was given 7 -2 fields at the time he was trying to find form , Dhoni has to change his attitude, respect his bowlers, expect more also be less stubborn and take risk's with selection and be aggressive, be impartial and select the best team not the best mate or business partner in the team.It is an insult for a captain or team mate to call his bowlers medium pacers, they can be fast bowlers, swing, seam bowlers,it is like calling Dravid a slow batsmen and Sehwag a slogger.
