However a new trial format of 2 innings 50 over games could be very interesting. but in a 2 innings 50 over game also the 2 innings will be pretty short (like around 25 overs each) so there also we will see slogging and more T20 like cricket.

In the first 25, they will not slog as in doing so they will lose the plot in the first innings itself :facepalm: And 2 innings of 50 overs, people can't digest one 50 over innings and you are talking about 2 :facepalm: Hmm I thought its two innings of a 25 over game. So the match will be continued from where the first 25 overs left off.

He has always been obsessed with this.. #devilsadvocate ;) I would have thought it would be easier in the new format to score 100s(even 200s) for a batsman, considering he gets rest in between innings

rajmarie Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 Keep the current ODI format as it is....rather reduce the no of ODI's being played by 25%. With the new changes being put in from Oct 1st....ie different balls from each end....PP between 15 - 40 overs...should keep interesting. Maybe the max overs allowed should be raised to 11 per bowler rather then exisitng 10.
