The name KritiKal is a fusion of the Hindi words Kriti and Kal which mean - Creation and Tomorrow. Founded in 2002, KritiKal was the first student led startup from IIT Delhi. KritiKal is a technology design house creating technologies and products which will hone the applications and services of the future.

They have some social media based marketing applications - some based on twitter and have been doing well in their space. Started up by a Nepali guy from NIT DGP and his colleagues. It is a nice feeling when someone acknowledges little things that even you do not remember.

Still,I admire Rohan's resilience.TCB! yup , am hopefull they will comeup with a great product at some point ...i have common friends with Rohan , pretty chilled out guy apparently ...am sure we will hear more of him in future

I remember attending one demo at TiE event couple of years back, start up by some IIT Chennai guys (IIRC supported by some Stanford or Harvard alumni). Their vision was to manufacture various hardware solutions. Their motto was some thing like - "fail and fail often". Let me see if I can find them.

But most entrepreneurs are like that :). there was a lot of hype around the company , infact almost Ipad like fanatic fan following ...his blog posts would get 1000s of responses in a day ..iirc was rated the most visited/popular blog one week ...the good thing is a lot of people know the company now , all they need is a decent product .

But I always have been skeptical about quality of Indian products in this space, so never bothered to check beyond specifications of Adam on some online review site.

These guys need to have a good understanding of what makes USA or Germany tick, university-industry clusters and a pool of experienced experts and fresh supply of talent are necessary to ensure success in high end solutions and products. even proximity to happening lcoations like silicon valley counts. how many universities in USA are classed as research class and how many in India? Historically , countries moved gradually up the value chain.There is a reason Sony and samsung didn't come from somalia or nepal. Simply declaring that we can match the west in products is like hoping to win 30 olympic golds with the rubbish sports system we have. what is the rationale behind their confidence? do they have some designer or programmers or visionaries who belong to the top 1% ? all the experience in producing high end solutions is largely in developed countries.. precisely why we shud not take 99% of these attempts seriously. the whole ecosytem has to be built..world class universities, industry, linkage, R & D pool,funding,supporting training institutes,,then we can talk. till then one or two exceptional people may succeed with great luck inspite of the system.
