Sid Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Of course we're happy but I just think that some people are getting carried away. It shouldn't overshadow problems that we have. Don't worry about series in India - We run on auto pilot in India. Worst case scenario vs a good team is a drawn series / vs a crap team is 1-0. The opposition have to be really good AND we have to be really crap to lose in India. Ya I know we will most probably defeat Eng in tests next year, though I think they will give us stiff competition but as far as Aussie tour is concerned , the bowling resources just doesnt give me any confidence.I am just looking forward to some fight in Aus from our players.
kabira Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 I have a trivia. On flat wickets, 3 in England, 1 here in India, they won 3 in England and lost one here. but it was close one. Now on wickets that were not totally batsman friendly they lost by huge margin. What would you call that team??? Correct answer get 100000 ICF$

After Australia, the next tour outside the SC is in Dec 2013/Jan 2014. So we are not going to lose too many series in the next 2 years. Draw/win in Aus and we'll probably remain unbeaten for the next 2 years.

Will we be playing enough test series at home to somehow reclaim the no.1 rank though, at least for a few months? As for the Australian tour, I think we will get thrashed :(
Trichromatic Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 So that means we will rule the world for next 2 years ' date='good to know :--D[/quote'] That's why I'm bit happy with good performance of padosis. They can reduce points of poms in next test series. :P
Sid Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 That's why I'm bit happy with good performance of padosis. They can reduce points of poms in next test series. :P But I think Eng will win that series

As for the Australian tour, I think we will get thrashed :( I doubt that. Australia these days is absolutely flat and our bowlers can't get wicket there. But batsman can do well there. Tracks can be bouncy there, but there won't be much swing like England. Draws or series loss. Not absolute thrashing. Series win would be a miracle.
Trichromatic Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 But I think Eng will win that series Win alone won't help. Draws can affect them.
Cricket Tragic Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 But I think Eng will win that series Yeah but you drop points for drawn games as world number 1. :cantstop: So a 1-0 result would be like a loss.
Sid Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Win alone won't help. Draws can affect them. Kaafi zyada soch rakha India ko phir se top pe lane ke liye tumne :--D
