dhoni and indian would love to have this "minow basher" in their team as first choice specialist spin bowler...it wasn't long ago people we asking for Ashwin to be included and after one full series, people here on ICF are asking for Rahul Sharma to be included and get rid of Ashwin...wonder how long will this love with Sharma last? too bad there is not "minow basher " in your team...:)
Hmmm let's see... without any "minnow basher" we are the World Champions and are one of the best odi teams around. No thanks, you can keep him. We just hope we get Yuvi recovers soon and is back in the team

Pakistan need a good pacer to come through. Gul has not looked himself in ODI's recently. England have done well because they have learned to play Hafeez. He has not been anywhere near as economical as usual. Ajmal is class though. Best spinner in the world by some distance.

Gul is like the older version of Zak where in every game he would lose the match in the 1st spell. Gul has done that in WC semi final after talking big and getting stuffed by Sehwag and now this :haha:

Awful pace attack. How can one expect someone of Gul's caliber to lead the Pakistan pace attack and succeed?:haha:
I thought Gul was the best pacer in the world... at least before the WC semi-final that's what the word on the street was :giggle:

yep// he even fooled sachin in world cup i guess in odis its much easier to play good bowlers u can play out overs, fields are spread so no catchers near by u can also slog ur way out a bit in tests england lost badly i odnt htink this odi series even if they whitewash pakistan owuld help much

You must be on the wrong street then :P Gul bowls decently in patches. Most of the time he is mediocre at best.

That's what Pakis in my workplace were telling me during the tourney, i.e. just wait till your batsmen face Gul and Afridi. It was fun to have a chat with them the next day and I bought all of them a coffee once India won the WC :haha:

Always thought he was a very good limited overs bowler.

Nope. Only T20. In odis he has benn ordinary other than cashing out against minnows which Pakis play a lot against with every other series against Bangbros or Zimoks

@daryl1985 What he said above. There are instances where he pulls off splendid performances. Like against England twice in 2010. Usually he fails to get the initiative early on. Takes wickets at the end.

Need to re-enforce our fast bowling department. Cheema, Junai & Gul are good in test coz its a different ball game however in ODI's we need attacking fast bowler. Gul is all about rhythm and if he is out of rhythm he can be a real eye sore like he was today and also in the WC semi final last year.
