I blame Mongia and Joshi for that defeat most of all. SRT and Mongia had the match won and Mongia started taking risks towards the end of his innings thinking the match was in the bag. SRT had a chat with him a couple of times and you could see he was asking him to settle down and carry on but Mongia threw it away. Then in comes Joshi was was a decent lower order bat and he started out as if he was playing a odi!!! He hit a 6 off Saqlain and got out soon after. I blame these two for throwing it away with SRT at the other end playing an innings of a lifetime. Don't blame Kumble, Srinath and Prasad for getting out as they were over-matched and you can't expect them to do much against on song Akram and Saqlain with Waqar as the other bowler. Mongia and Joshi have to take lion's share of the blame for that defeat.

Mongia "threw is away" despite playing as great a knock as ever played by an Indian keeper (something your hero Dhoni can never accomplish) , but Tendulkar was "betrayed". Carry on the bhakti and bhajans! :hysterical:

Well the wks I have seen from 92-93 till now (a little bit of More, Mongia, Vijay Yadav, Dajiya, Ratra, Karthik) I consider him the best wk-batsman. Again, for me the best wk is the player I would choose in my best XI, and I would go with Dhoni for everything he brings to the table as a wk-batsman-captain. As for Dhoni I am pretty much happy with what he is doing and I thank god we are past the dark days of 90s where we had the likes of Mongia as wk-batsmen.

I am sure you went to stats guru and came back empty handed trying to find any innings of Dhoni in the same league as the Mongia ones listed above.

What about his innings at Centurion vs Steyn and Morkel.Was that any good ?Where does that rank in comparison to Mongia's great innings. Or Dhoni's 50 vs Pak in 2007 ,where does that rank ,considering we had lost quick wickets in that innings.

I am sure you found this out the same way as you claimed Dhoni is my "hero" :haha: I am pretty satisfied how Dhonui has performed over his career and I don't have any urge to prove any of his innings was better than Mongia's. If it makes you happy you can post innings from Mongia, More, Kirmani, Engineer, Dahiya, Ratra, Patel etc. and claim how those innings were "better" than Dhoni's :giggle: As for me I am fine with Dhoni's performance and if I had to pick a team I would pick Dhoni ahead of Mongia.

I can list many more valuable innings which didnt come when the score was 300-5.And the count would be more than great Mongia's better performances.

Debatable. Mongia has failed with the bat in a lot of matches and hasnt even been able to smash tired attacks.
