CC1981 Posted July 10, 2007 Posted July 10, 2007 Hellsing still remains one of the few Anime/manga i liked and was very well made IMO. The manga i've seen on tv here suck mostly- sailor moon, DBZ and various other cr@pfests geared for kids than adults...

Anime is Japanese cartoon - i.e. moving animation. Manga It is a huge industry - accounts for 40% of all published material in Japan. P.S. since you are interested in Buddha, you may enjoy the Buddha manga.

Iguess you are not aware of what goes on in the animation industry then...indian animation industry and lazy...you are joking.... Its is the nascent stage right now ....there are couple of indian animators cartoonist comic artists who are as good if not better than some of the artist in the west heard of vaibhav kumaresh ,gitanjali rao, ram mohan, manu ittina ,harshdeep borah......???

That was mainly a Japanese creation, and hasnt been followed up since. Yet it was the best adaptation of the Ramayan ive seen so far - a testament to the potential. As for not copying Japanese style, let me tell you why I think we should: 1). Anime/manga art has a style which exagerates facial features, making it much easier to be expressive. 2). Other asian countries like Korea have made their comics in manga/anime style, to great sucess. 3). Its the asian style, and India is an asian country, with similar history/legend/culture to Japan. 4). Anime/manga is the peak of development, so taking heed of it would leapfrog over the crap stages.
