Pitbull shows up late at Noida, concert a damp squib

NOIDA: The much-hyped Pitbull concert left thousands of fans disappointed as the American rapper showed up three hours late at the venue. Sporting his trademark tuxedo and black shades, the rapper failed to make an impression on the angry crowd. However, some fans were satiated with the variety of songs that the artiste performed at the concert. Armando Christian Perez - popularly known as Pitbull - was scheduled to commence the show at 11 pm on Friday, but he turned up only at 1:30am. And though he apologized for the delay, the audience couldn't be pacified easily. The organizers had promised the fans that the rapper would perform for three hours but he was hardly present for half an hour. "We feel cheated. The tickets weren't cheap and we have shelled out a small fortune to see Pitbull perform. The show itself was great, but he only performed for a fraction of the time that we had paid to see," said Anshul Kumar, a student of Delhi University. Organisers said that technical problems triggered the delay as the artiste and his band were not happy with the sound quality. The concert took place at a club. Many fans felt that the setting ruined the entire concert. "There were thousands of people packed into the club. There was no space for standing let alone dancing. It also got very stuffy and was horribly uncomfortable. It would have been much better had it taken place in the open," said Sanjana Ahuja, who works in the city and had arrived at 9pm. Disgruntled fans aside, there were some who thoroughly enjoyed the show. Pitbull performed songs that he had collaborated with other artistes. 'Let It rain over me', collaborated with Marc Anthony and 'Get on the floor', collaborated with Jenifer Lopez took the audience by storm. He also performed his solo hits including 'Give me everything tonight', and 'Hotel room service'. "It wasn't very well organized but Pitbull did belt out his most popular songs and ultimately I enjoyed the music. I just wish that organizers will actually stop to think about the fan who comes all the way for the concert and is then told that the artiste will be late because the sound quality is not up to the mark. For a music concert sound quality should be of utmost importance," said Shashank Jha, who had come to the concert from Chandigarh. There had been much speculation about whether Spanish pop music singer Enrique Iglesias and pop star Jennifer Lopez would be present at the venue, but they were absent. As were VJ Anousha along with DJ Aaron who were supposed to emcee the concert. Pitbull will perform in Mumbai on Saturday and Pune on Sunday. When the American rapper Pitbull turned up at the club he was due to perform late on Friday night, he was dressed in his trademark tuxedo and black shades. were not to be so easily satisfied. The much hyped Pitbull concert in Noida left many fans unsatisfied while others were just glad that the concert took place at all. However fans said that they were quite happy with the eventual performance since the artiste played most his popular numbers.

People in Noida just don't learn their lessons. First it was Metallica who duped them, now it is Pitbull. People should just boycott such concerts in Noida so that the artists learn to respect their audience.
