I mentioned this once before, I'll say it again here. A player like Sehwag is much more than just the batting averages. He is a psychological bomb that you unleash on the opponent. Take for eg, Umar Gul. He had a great WC till the semi finals. He was leading wicket taker till then. Full of confidence and form he came to bowl to Sehwag. And BAM! 4 4s in an over and he wilted. He couldn't bowl straight after that, his confidence shattered. Gave many lose deliveries and extras. That is exactly what Sehwag brings to the team. Did he score a lot in that game? No. Around 40 only. But he had an impact. He gave us a head start. The opposing captain doesn't know how to set a field. Doesn't know which bowling change to introduce. IMO, Umr Gul is a good bowler. He's not some below average person whom you can disrespect and hammer as you please. And Sehwag does this time and again.

Top post. Yes. Sehwag is more than just numbers that surround him. He has such an uncomplicated mind that sometimes you would wonder how can an attack like this be unplanned and extempore? The problem in having Sehwag in your opposition is that, he may look ordinary for five balls in an over, and suddenly in the sixth ball, out of nowhere he would hit a shot that will make you forget the previous five balls. And from thereon you can count the dot balls you bowl on your fingertips. The beauty with Sehwag's batting is that he doesn't hold back at any stage when the ball in his zone. And the term "his zone" can easily be extended to the whole of pitch when he is in "the mood". So the only option left for the bowler is to wet his pants and go for a change up. :P Another important aspect about his batting that hardly anyone will notice amidst the delightful strokeplay is the "hunger in his eyes". Yes he tends to play high risk shots, but that is all because of his hunger to score as many and as quickly as possible. For him attack is the best form of defense. Where will you find a player like him ? Nowhere I believe. He is a gem, an absolute ripper to watch mate !

ICC ranking points WI bowlers yesterday http://www.relianceiccrankings.com/ranking/odi/bowling/ Rampaul=631 Roach=587 Sammy=512 Total rating points =1730 SA bowlers on that day: http://www.relianceiccrankings.com/datespecific/odi/?stattype=bowling&day=25&month=02&year=2010 Steyn=615 Kallis=476 Langeveldt=540 Total= 1631 About time people give Sehwag the credit he deserves.
Let's say he actualy made the 200 against Bangladesh in the opening match of the WC11, would you still say that he only made 200 because it was Bangladeshi bowlers? You can't compare WI's bowlers to Styne and Kallis, espacialy Styne. A 200 is a 200, regardless who the opposition is and not to mention only 2 batsmen achieved it (both INDIANS XD)!! So we are all giving credit to him regardless of who he faced as bowlers ...
