The Gurgaon couple died when the chopper they were travelling in crashed in a canyon in Las Vegas last week. Lovish Bhanot, 28, and his 26-year-old wife Anupama from Delhi got married barely a month ago. After spending time with family and friends, they left for their honeymoon in the last week of November. They were scheduled to return by December 15 but for their untimely death. The family doubts if the safety norms were adhered to by Sundance Helicopters, the company operating the choppers. "They have had accidents in the past. They are responsible for our irreparable loss," said Puneet Sharma, the victim's cousin. Lovish Bhanot was an MBA and the CEO of a property brokerage firm - Lyca Investment Ltd - which was handed down to him after his father's death three years ago. The only son, he had two sisters who are married. He lived in a highrise in Sector 50 near Sohna Road with his mother and wife. "We broke the tragic news to his mother in the morning. We told her there was a mishap during their trip since we have received no official confirmation of their death," said a relative. Bhanot had completed MBA in 2005 after which he joined the brokerage firm, said sources. Soon after the news came in, the Sector 47 office of Lyca International was shut down. One of the staff members who had recently joined told TOI that Lovish was a kind boss. "I heard about his death from another colleague. He was so nice; we still cannot believe that such a thing could happen to him," said the employee. Bhanot's relative said he had himself prepared the itinerary for his honeymoon. "This was not a holiday package. He had done all the bookings himself," said the relative. When asked about their next course of action, a close friend of Bhanot said they have not yet decided that as the crash left no remains of the victims that could be flown back home. "We have not decided if someone will go there to perform the last rites as his mother is still in shock," he said. RIP:((

So it might come as little surprise that last week two couples in town to mark their nuptials boarded a helicopter for a sunset tour of the Las Vegas Strip and the Hoover Dam. One couple had been married for a month, the other for 25 years. What should have been a routine sightseeing trip ended in a fiery crash. The Eurocopter AS-350, operated by Sundance Helicopters, suddenly climbed, made a sharp turn and plummeted into an isolated ravine outside Lake Mead, killing both couples and the pilot. Federal investigators have not said what caused the crash, though they did tell reporters that as part of routine maintenance the helicopter’s engines and mechanical control devices had been replaced the day before. Sundance Helicopters has been involved in at least one other fatal accident. Over the weekend, authorities identified one couple as Lovish Bhanot and Anupama Bhola of Gurgaon, India, the Associated Press reported. They were married Nov. 6 and were spending their honeymoon in Las Vegas. Bhanot, 28, ran a real estate company, and Bhola, 26, worked as a flight attendant. They were joined by Delwin and Tamara Chapman of Utica, Kan. The Chapmans, both 49, were in town to renew their vows after a quarter-century of marriage, the AP said. Delwin Chapman ran a construction company and his wife had just closed her salon. The couple had four daughters. The canyon in which the helicopter was found was so remote that authorities could access it only by helicopter and all-terrain vehicles. The pilot, Landon Nield, 31, had worked for Sundance for several years.
