G_B_ Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 It seems that will be the bowling line up India will have to face on the boxing day test. I dont think Harris will be fit for the first test. He has only just got back to bowling. Reports are coming out that shane watson if he plays (its a big doubt as he hamstrings take more time to repair) wont be bowling much. Cummings and Johnson are out. On the batting front its a toss up if Marsh will be fit. I think he should come in at the expense of Khawaja. (if fit)
Old guy Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 add watson he is one of there most underrated bowlers this series is gonna be close but if yadav bowls like a champ would be much much easier for us
G_B_ Posted December 7, 2011 Author Posted December 7, 2011 add watson he is one of there most underrated bowlers this series is gonna be close but if yadav bowls like a champ would be much much easier for us big fitness issues. Especially with bowling. Theories floating about with Aus not having the best of openers Watson will play only as a opening batsman. Watson is their bowling version of Zaheer khan, who may come into this series without much bowling practise.
Sachin=GOD Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 Would be nice if you used a few punctuation marks........I thought "Pattinson Starc Lyon Siddle" was the name of one player :hysterical:

Old guy Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 i think he will bowl starc and siddle are not that gr8 harris is world class when fit
G_B_ Posted December 7, 2011 Author Posted December 7, 2011 i think he will bowl starc and siddle are not that gr8 harris is world class when fit if he does bowl any meaningful number of overs, i will put money on him breaking down or pulling out. He has not bowled anything (not even domestic cricket) since the SA series. the last thing Aus want is for Watson to be injured in the first test missing the entire summer.
Old guy Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 but watson should bat a no 6 and bowl a bit then he is gr8 value as a opener he does not score any centuries and always throws away the start he is perfect for no 6 position and then can bowl a bit too don know wht aussies are thinking :P
G_B_ Posted December 7, 2011 Author Posted December 7, 2011 but watson should bat a no 6 and bowl a bit then he is gr8 value as a opener he does not score any centuries and always throws away the start he is perfect for no 6 position and then can bowl a bit too don know wht aussies are thinking :P then you need to drop somebody in the batting Warner/Hughes/Marsh/Khawaja (pick 2) Ponting Clarke Hussey Watson Haddin I still think Watson will break down if he bowls
Old guy Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 well marsh should open in place of watson and drop hughes and give warner some chances khawaja is no 3 bat
G_B_ Posted December 7, 2011 Author Posted December 7, 2011 well marsh should open in place of watson and drop hughes and give warner some chances khawaja is no 3 bat so you would go for Warner Marsh Khawaja Ponting Clarke Watson Hussey Haddin that still means somebody has to get dropped. If you open with Marsh (who is another question mark to be fit) and Warner then Khawaja has to be axed. the problem for Aus is Watson at 6 would screw up their batting. Marsh is just coming back from a back injury which has kept him out. It would be touch and go.
G_B_ Posted December 7, 2011 Author Posted December 7, 2011 In any case This line up is highly inexperienced. A lot will depend on how Sehwag does. If he smashes them then I can see their shoulders dropping.
Old guy Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 true but chances of him getting out in first over of match are better
Old guy Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 and i will say watson at no 7 or whtever if can bowl is much more valueable than hughes or warner..so i will take the chance
G_B_ Posted December 7, 2011 Author Posted December 7, 2011 true but chances of him getting out in first over of match are better he has a good record in aus. Also had a good WI series. I can see Sehwag doing well .
Old guy Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 lol he wasnt in best form in tests and in odis he looks terribly out of form he had 3 chances and still got out for 20 odd and in next match golden duck sigh
carnish Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 AUS lineup for me should be: Warner Watson/Marsh Khwaja Ponting Clarke Hussey Haddin Harris Pattinson Starc Lyon
Robelinda Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 Hah, if Sehwag starts smashing our bowlers it won't be their shoulders dropping, they will drop their pants and bend over. You guys are in for a batting smorgasbord this Aussie summer, bring your own cutlery and drink, a feast is upon you. Sachin will be on 104 centuries by the end of the test series, Sehwag to beat his best test score, and do it in one day.

Robelinda Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 Siddle and Starc in particular are just trundlers, no penetration at all, medium pacers with a faster ball, pure fodder.
