Will destiny stop at 99?

Ironic and funny to see a certain set of posters talking about the "easy way out" of scoring a century in ODIs - when Kesavan raised a similar point in a different context about ODIs and Tests not being mixed there was hell raised on these forums by the same or similar posters.

I have my own weird ways to have 'fun out of debates'. On serious note. When you went about ridiculing 'fanatics' on their 'mind reading' capabilities - you could have taken a step back and it is not tough to figure out - your perception is as (im)probable as their's!!! unless of course there is some deficiency or bubble of delusion on side of self-proclaimed-superior-side. And that is where lies the hypocrisy part - most of the self proclaimed anti-fanatics are as 'fanatical' about their views as so called 'fanatics' are about theirs. However, more often than not - (from what I have observed here on ICF) - self-proclaimed anti-fanatics are the first ones to resort to mocking/smilies (ohh I am so smart, and they are just fanatics/idiots) and other modes of derogatory remarks than the other side does. Again - that is just my neutral observation, you are entitled to have your own views and do not even have to listen to me (forget agreeing) , as long as it fits your happiness/fun criteria.
:giggle: most of Anti Fanatics are not obsessed with any individual but Most of the Fan a tics are very much obsessed as u can see they bring this matter in every thread under the pretension of sarcastic mockery of smart people.. Any way my mobile charge is going down.. over and out from this thread.. nJoy madi :two_thumbs_up:

Sachin needs to get another 50 tomorrow :om:... forget the 100..it aint coming in this test
I actually hope he dunn need to. If he has to score a 100 then it would mean he should be there with at least around 180-200 more runs required to win. Already we are 230 behind...add another 50 odd runs tomorrow, So if we have to chase say 300 in the 4th innings then Sachin needs to walk in with the scorecard reading 100 for 2....in the 4th innings that is risky. If we are chasing 300 then we need at least 150 on the board before losing the 2nd wicket. Alternatively if we manage to get them out cheap and have to chase say 260 then it would mean we will have to lose the second wicket by the time the score is 60...phew! No way!

We are losing one early wicket for sure tomorrow... either gambhir or sehwag will go before 20... if its sehwag we are scre*ed..if its gambhir... hope dravid does bat a little bit with sehwag and we get to 100 before we loose the 2nd... sachin has to score no matter what cause if he doesnot we dont have anyone else to do that except maybe ashwin since lax is a struggle these days...he even struggled against the carribean side

if it comes to SRT (or anyone else in particular) requiring 100 or so to win this match.. then we can very well forget this match. most likely we will be chasing something like 260-80s.. which is best chased with 2-3 50s from top order than 1 100 from upper-middle order and bunch of 10s/20s from others...

I would just pray that Sachin won't even have a chance to score a hundred and Gambhir, Sehwag, Dravid would settle the matter before that. But in reality, I predict victory coming when Dhoni is on crease. So should be a win by 4-5 wickets.

exactly what i meant by that statement... but we need a 50 from him... we cant hope him to make a century cause if he needs to do that then we are on our way to loose this test match

aapkey munh mein gud-ghee-shakkar.. whatever you want :)... I will pay anything to see a ruthless win, rather than a struggling (win/loss) chase.

I don't mind a struggling chase as long as India wins the match.

In the hindsight - yes.. but I have been wishing forever since.. I want to see a time when we are as ruhless as WI of 80s, OZ of early 2000.. nail-biting finishes, once in a while, are great for sport.. but nothing matches upto ruthless domination over a long period of time, for true champions.

That 387/4 is your kind of stuff I guess. Our only chance of ruthless domination is when Sehwag gets going, which going by averages is an improbability, but going by the law of averages might just be possible.

For a moment - I do not want to be concerned about "law of averages", "if Sehwag manages this/that", "Dravid is still there", "Laxman is clutch player".... - that is what I mean by "ruthless domination"..... those may not be best examples, but nothing exemplifies my wishes better than that finishing knock by Marshall.. with one hand plastered - "hahahahaha... do what you can, we are winning this anyway".. I wish to see that day in Indian cricket.

that kind of confidence cannot come until India has a formidable bowling attack (especially fast bowling).
