I don't care about Sachin's 100th ton anymore

You know what? I do care about Sachin's 100th 100 because he so richly deserves it. A guy who has scored 99 international hundreds over a career of almost 23 years does deserve to get that magical 100 number. So yes, I do care about it and wait for it everytime he steps out there. Having said that, I care also about India doing well - and it really pains me to see the pathetic showing we have put up so far in Australia. This was an Aussie side that was down in the dumps with all sorts of confidence problems - TILL they met India in Melbourne. And suddenly, their bowlers are bowling just the right lengths and lines, their batsmen (who were 21/9 not so long ago) are having careers revived. Something is very wrong with Team India right now and I really hope they can fix it at Perth (Getting 400 in the 2nd inns at Sydney, though not enough, is a start at least). So I care about BOTH Sachin's 100th 100 AND India's performances. Why should I have to pick between one or the other? If Sachin gets his 100, it will only benefit India, won't it? And all this talk about nervousness when he is approaching the milestone, what a load of codswallop! This is all media-created. Sachin has been playing for 23 years now with huge expectations everytime he has walked out there. And now, suddenly he is getting nervous? It takes ONE ball to get rid of a batsman - and unfortunately Sachin's getting that one ball every single time. He will get there - let's just lay off him. The more people talk about it, the less they understand about what the game of cricket is all about.

Only care about the team doing well. All the milestones and records when the team is floundering are meaningless.
there are People who wants the Record even if team loses.. May be in some cases we cant blame them any way this team wont improve so atleast their Idol will give them happiness.. let us hope for 100 100 in Perth atleast for the happiness of die hards (except Sach dan and Tranny :winky: )

Exactly. Like in football there is no point in a striker scoring 30 goals in a season if the team gets relegated. If the team is not winning then its all fairly pointless.

The point of any team sport is the success of the team. That's why a team win such as series win or WC win are cherished and celebrated more than individual records & milestones. These stats only makes sense in an individual sports like Tennis or ping pong, and even in these sports I doubt a record for say hitting "highest no. of aces" will provide much satisfaction if it comes in a loss. Bottom line is that records only look good when the team is doing well or when you are winning otherwise they are as useless as a Pakistani committee for morality, integrity & ethics.

I stopped caring about it long back' date=' after a few tests in England. It's just an another century like his 99 others. But these bloody Ch9 commentators don't let me get over it, esp that old *** Tony Greig and he's so sarcastic in his comments that it just pisses me off.[/quote'] That old feck Tony Grieg pisses me off too bro and many many others here

Exactly, the same point what Sunil Gavaskar said a couple of days ago that if you want to make records or if you want to reignite your career, just play against India. Secondly, we all love and respect Sachin. Just that we want him to do better and believe it or not, his 100th ton feat is affecting his game. Sunil Gavaskar also said that Sachin should have played against WI in ODIs so that he could have reached that milestone against WI and then he could play free minded against Australia.

I never cared about it anyway, I just hope he plays long enough to end up with more test runs than Jacques Kallis because as of now I think Kallis will overtake him. Also if he really wanted to get that 100th ton jinx out of the way asap he should have played the home series against West Indies. That would have definitely taken away some of the pressure, terrible decision to not play that series. I think he would have played better in Australia if he had got it.

Yes.
Oh! So let's hope this duration doesn't stretch to eternity:--D Don't get me wrong, a 100th ton is a huge Cricketing achievement. I'd rather Sachin achieve this milestone at home or at least in the ODIs in Oz. It'll be pretty meaningless in this series now.

:two_thumbs_up: Exactly my point. The pressure'd not had been there then if he completed his ton against WI ODIs
