jusarrived Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Yet another choker. Our athlete's suck. Was hoping for 2 golds but it's hard with Deepika out. Chokers usually remain chokers but maybe Deepika will improve considering she's 18. Very disapointed by her this olympics though. Can you imagine the pressure these guys are suddenly put thru ? you win a medal , ovrrnight bcom a crorepati , else you will be forgotten for the next 4 years..look at kashyap , for me its already an amazing achievement , but unless he beats the world no1 in the next round he will be treated like a loser .. i really feel sorry for the indian athletes tbh

Chinese are under huge pressure and deliver. SRT is under huge pressure and delivers. Kasyap will not be treated like a loser but going out before semis is nothing that deserves recognition either if we are realistic.
bihutoli Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Thing is though these athletes (archers) are capable of performances better than what they have shown in the olympics. So in the biggest stage of them all they have not been able to deliver. In fact it has been a shoddy performance. I know many people who would call that choking imo. No sympathy from my side to be honest. Kashyap on the other hand has already exceeded expectations, similar to what Saina did in the last olympics. Nobody talked **** about Saina then. I don't think criticism on the players have been unfair imo, most of us know our limitations as a sporting nation.

Most of these guys are self made with little help from Govt , unlike the chinese .. & lol at giving examples of a cricketers .btw ur a Mandeep singh fan already , but Kashyap dosent desrve recognition ?

I doubt anything will come out of it though, and anyway he should complained earlier. Now it will just look like he's trying to make something out of the controversy created by the chinese/koreans.
saneindian Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 news channels showing that the 4 badminton pairs alleged to have deliberately underperformed have now been expelled from the Olympics. 2 each from group A and C. Now in both those groups the two remaining teams have won 1 and 0 matches respectively where as the 3rd placed teams in groups B and D have won 2 matches each. How will they now decide who moves ahead to the next stage?

Japs are a way better team to lose in straight sets to this TPE team

No bigger pressure then that, yet they handle it so well.

And yes cricketers are athlete's, great athlete's handle pressure. Many other athlete's from India however don't have winning mentalitity and are often satisfied by **** performences. Deepika was very dissapointing today.
