I dont recall I read that India made any A tours in the last year. Every thing looked greed...I mean green in BCCI world so these expenses from BCCI point of view were dropped. They cant do that. They need to send India A team to atleast 2 overseas tour every year....& use the players from A team as back & replacement players for Team India. You can expect such things from BCCI only. They need to send A teams, junior teams abroad, to county to play there and get used to the conditions. They should have also sent a separate team for T20s matches against Australia as we are playing 2 T20s not 1 odd match. But they always say that what's the use of spending so much money on these useless things. Then what is the use of such a rich board if you don't want to spend money on such things.
Magneto Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Yar Pujara had only failed in 2 test matches in South Africa. Experts still see him as a classy test player. Just need to get his fitness back on track Pujara surely looks like a classy Test player and will hopefully have a great Test career, but like the others his technique overseas would be tested. Couldn't score much in the recently concluded Duleep Trophy match where they played on a bouncy pitch. I am not really judging him or anyone else by one odd match, but I am just not superexcited when I look at their performances objectively. India's batting future looks good in terms of potential, but whether they'll be translated into performance is something we'll have to see. Also, the IPL/CPL seasons mean that no one will play county cricket, hence the opportunities to hone their skills in alien conditions also go for a toss.

Their overseas numbers hardly point out anything solid, and most of the time they end up looking pretty poor as well. To keep the discussion valid, I thought we were comparing them with their predecessors (the present seniors) and comparing their performances. All I am saying is the current soon-to-be-retired lot looked miles better than these guys when they had their overseas starts. And I am pretty much sceptical as to how these young runs would fare going by their extremely unimpressive overseas starts and overall stats. Yes, I have seen Saxena and Bist play in Ranji finals. Have to say very impressed by Saxena's solid technique as a top order player. You are right about present seniors that they were also good in fact better on their first overseas tours. There is no question about Sachin, but even Rahul scored 90 odd on his debut alongside Ganguly's century in England. Then Sehwag scored century against South Africa in SA on his debut when he hit Ntini for six over point. So I was wrong when I said our upcoming youngsters have class to succeed overseas more often than our seniors. :(( But I still have hopes from them

He and a bunch of future Test players were sent on that tour...but most of them or rather all of them failed. Kohli was then dropped for Eng Test tour...rathen then stick with him (He was leter selected as a replacement for injuries on that tour). & Yes....BCCI needs to keep the emphasis on those under 19 & A tours. Have you noticed that some of the youngsters like Rohit Sharma and Gautam Gambhir has much more loose flesh hanging than some of the seniors like Dravid and Sachin (who you detest)? These guys (Sehwag, Gambhir, Rohit, Zak, Ashwin) just don't care to be in shape.Regarding spinners, I hope for a good leggie - Abdullah is promising but he is a leftie orthodox meaning he'll compete with Ojha all the time, and Rahul looked good in ODIs and T20s but his FC figures are abysmal. I wonder whether he'll have Kumble like precision and would be able to bowl 60 overs in a match regularly with that kind of discipline. You make a good point. Actualy if you look more closely to this matter, all big 4 asian test playing nation's players are mostly fat/chubby and some have bigger boobs then girls!!!!:cantstop: This I don't understand at all. You have facilities and trainers behind your back and they don't even bother with it.
