Ultimate_Game Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Rohit has been sitting on the benches for half his international career. I remember when he first got selected he went for 2-3 series without a game and would be included or chopped according to convenience till he got a break in the T20 World Cup. Pathetic way to manage our best batting talent who along with Kohli should be our batting mainstay going forward. No wonder our bowlers get injured so much if their injury management is handled as well as Rohit's career has been so far.
Ultimate_Game Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 i totally agree..! well this is how cricket is played he nees to practice hard and ocme back into form he can do that im sure :) hopefully he will peak in odis Hopefully he is given all the games and not dropped if he doesn't do well in the first one or two, else his confidence will be shot.
Old guy Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Hopefully he is given all the games and not dropped if he doesn't do well in the first one or two' date=' else his confidence will be shot.[/quote'] i dont think he will be dropped they persisted with kohli in tests and whole team really they should even persist now.. he will click.. im sure
Ultimate_Game Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 i dont think he will be dropped they persisted with kohli in tests and whole team really they should even persist now.. he will click.. im sure It's Indian team we are talking about. They persisted with 40 years old over 8 tests but they may bench a youngster after 1 or 2 odi failures
bulbul Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Nope' date=' what did he say? And when you say series was he referring to IPL or the Aus series?[/quote'] He said that generally..after he went to many tours without getting a single Game..how hard he practiced and improved bowling lengths etc.. this is from a article from CI i guess just before India series or after First match cant remmeber properly i just mentioned because it doesnt mean that just because u are not playing matches you shouldnt be ready when opportunity came

Rohit sharma is the only reason i tuned in to the match today,This guy is most talented young batsman in the world currently and should have played 30 tests by now.

They persisted with 40 years old over 8 tests but they may bench a youngster after 1 or 2 odi failures i think persistence with kohli paid off lets hope they learnt the lesson also replace mithun for next game.. and playing so many spinner in australia even in t20 is dangerous so even play pathan
CG Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 i think persistence with kohli paid off lets hope they learnt the lesson also replace mithun for next game.. and playing so many spinner in australia even in t20 is dangerous so even play pathan Do not worry they will persist will rohit and even laxman, dravid, until they find form. Its how indian cricket works.

Rohit has been given tons of chances in ODIs inspite of having a poor average which only recently started to improve. When he gets into the test side, he will get enough chances there too.

Old guy Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Do not worry they will persist will rohit and even laxman' date='dravid, until they find form. Its how indian cricket works.[/quote'] but its wrong u gotta identify the player and then back him dont back players who have no chances like mithun,vinay.. this is wht management has to do if they cant even do this then we wont improve at all!

Rohit has been in the form of his life with runs in domestic cricket and consistent performances in odis last 3-4 series for India and managing 50+ nearly every game he played. And selectors waste his form by making him ride the bench. Even after 0-2 or 0-3 down they didn't bother to give him a chance. My money is on him not getting a Test till India travels abroad in 2013, coz all the seniors will play at home racking up runs and then quite before the away tours.

Im sure he will have ample time to play at home before going abroad in 2013.
