Not at all. Vinay Kumar' date=' heaven knows why he is there, but credit to him is performing well enough. PK is a lot smarter bowler than IP ever was and Zaheer is one of the best in the business. IP is a bits and bobs bowler these days who keeps the ball and swings at 125ish. Would get murdered most times.[/quote'] Let him play a few games, so that he gets murdered and proves you right. I am no IKP fan, its just that he deserve his chance in the side in my opinion.

I can bowl quicker then crapthan. His 75mph trundles will get raped if he plays regularly. His batting was the usual robotic nonsense. Showed no class at all
:haha::haha: He bowled well considering its his comeback ,he bowled mostly 130-135km/h good enough if he is able to swing the ball .

By that token even SRT should be there, and we both know where me and you stand on that. :) Looks IP's role needs to be defined here. He is NOT a first up bowler. Now if he is a 5-6 down batsman who will bowl 4-5 overs I get it. But if he is gonna be bowling 8-10 overs every game we are looking at a good amount of runs given. Of course if he proves me wrong I would be a happy camper but at this stage I am not convinced.
Did you really watch all his overs ,he was 130+ even clocking 135.

Did you really watch all his overs ' date='he was 130+ even clocking 135.[/quote'] Yep I did and yes he did push up the ante a bit. But he was clearly the weakest link in the trio of VK-UY-IP and that does not augur well for IP. That being said if IP ups his game I would be happy to be proved wrong.

130-135kph same as Vk, Zak, PK. So all of them should be dropped and then we'd have only Umesh! Its not all about pace, ask Shaun Tait.

Who said anything about tests ,His role is of a an allrounder and if he can bowl 10 overs and contribute with bat.He would be a very good odi player.

Rohit Sharma is class and will PROVE it. He had some very good performances for India recently. Why you dont rate Rohit? Do a thread stating so if you have a pair. O wait, you want to be popular and not take a risk. Another who must have so many splinters up his jacksy from sitting on the fence:cantstop: Crapthan once again proves he is mediocre nothing!

Arey baba let Pathan play a few games, fail before saying hes mediocre, and then I wouldn't argue. Even I am a big fan of Rohit Sharma, and know he has the potential to be one of the best, but his temperament and shot selection doesn't match his talent. He is easily carried away by a couple of strikes off the meat of the blade.

He is not some new youg kid like a jadeja and rohit, who you can give time and forgive odd error as they will learn etc. Rohit has been very good in last year, yes he he still raw etc But Kohli was getting similar stick in tests but benefitted from long run, if rohoit gets same run he will flower Crapthan does not have the talent for top class international cricket. Thats simple. 75 mph lollipops are not going to do jack. Like they way you are now sitting on fence with rohit!:giggle:

There are very few fast bowling allrounders in the game ,As i said his new action will help him to get late swing and with confidence pace will come ,he will be 130-140km/h .Irfan when he made his comeback in t20 world cup was 130-135km/h then he touched 145km/h in home series vs australia.

I think he needs games to get into rhythm. Not sure he will get them consecutively on this tour. Today he was average and his wicket was pretty lucky underedge. But we saw him bowl better vs the Windies couple of months back, getting the wickets he is known for. Few times today he was finding that area and getting the right-hander off balance. We will see though. He has much to prove. I don't think his pace (130 give or take about 5 when in rhythm) is a problem if he bowls correct areas.

I felt he was on the right track when he was focussing on his bowling. Can never forget waking up at 4 in the morning to see him get a ahat trick in that Karachi test match. However I think it went wrong when he started to be used as a pinch hitter up the order

How can you say he will give away a god amount of runs when he was one of our most economical bowler in the match and has done well consistently in the past? SRT's case is different coz he played 4 Tests and didn't do much but in case of Irfan he hasn't evenbeen given a chance and the one game he got he performed.

it really depends on the kaanfidance shown in irfu by dhoni. Look at the wonders his fake kaanfidance shown in Vinay Ko-maar has done.... that guy is actually bowling pretty decently in this tourney thus far coz he knows his place in the side is secure. Anyhow, I agree that irfan should only compete for the all rounder's slot and not a full time bowler for the time being. If his bowling becomes more consistent over the next few months then he would have a better chance of playing as a full time bowler.
