Should be both Gambhir and Dhoni. Gambhir stopped the early bleeding and nearly saw the team homw. Dhoni for scoring runs when one more wkt would have meant a SL win, and for taking on Murali and scoring at a rate so that Gambhir never came under pressure and Murali was effectively neutralised. In fact Dhoni handled Malinga brilliantly as well in Malinga's 2nd spell and ensured we didn't collapse against Malinga. If we are chasing in a high pressure game Dhoni, Gambhir and Yuvi are the ones I rely on with Raina to chip in with a cameo. Sehwag and Tendulkar are more often than not useless in pressure games.

how can u forget kohli while chasing? :D and i agree sachin,sehwag normally choke in high pressure games while chasing

Kohli has been good at chasing but I have yet to see him do that in pressure games such as WC knockouts or Asia Cup finals etc. Kohli has been in the team since the last 2 years so still too early to make a call on him. But Dhoni and Gambhir generally always show up with a cameo from Raina thrown in somewhere Sehwag on the other hand is the first to go.

yep he is new but he was the one who made 30 odd in final it was a stable inning..which was needed after loss of 2 wickets i think he will do well under pressure.. (he proved that in this test series :winky: ) i still have gr8 respect for gambhir and i really think its a form issue he is going through cos mentally this guy is test class..hope he makes a gr8 come back

I am sure as well. I have high hopes from Kohli and Rohit and they will be our batting mainstays in the future.

i seriously still dont know about rohit :cantstop: hope he does well but his performances in south africa really disappointed me only a good innings in tough conditions against big opposition will convince me :--D

Rohit is the most talented upcoming batsman in India and over the last year or so has started to put it all together in odis. He needs to be given a long run on the team in all the formats to allow him to cement his place.

i dont care about talent man..it has been proved again n again .. talent is one thing and performance another if he scores here in relatively tough conditions good for india but he still has to prove his play against moving ball imo kohli is rare new batsman who was able to adapt and over come his weakness (h pulls now infront of square towards midwicket!) hope rohit does the same :)
