Batting in 30s was as easy as club matches where batsmen only had to show up to score a century. 3. All that talk of uncovered pitches, no protective equipment, no field setting restrictions or limit on no. of bouncers is all balderdash. 4. Bodyline never happened. 5. If Tendulkar had played in 30s he would have averaged 120 at least.

Trying very hard to re-locate the goal post ? Its a simple question to those who make profound statements on how old camera footage makes really phasht bowlers look like trundlers. Got a explanation ?

I thought it was about how batsmen in the earlier eras had it easy while facing trundlers, whereas the current lot have a much tougher task. As for cameras and it's affect on pacers & trundlers, that's not my area of expertise and could care less what the speeds of the bowlers were in earlier era. The only thing that I can say is that in any sports the performance of a player with respect to his peers remains the same and if someone out-performs his peers by a long way the player's a legend.

reality today is in order to be classified merely as great you need to have proven skills in handling really great bowlers on variety of surfaces. Bradman faced no real truly great bowler nor did he play anywhere else other than in Eng. End of story.
