IMO....an Indian player will be better off playing in eg Big Bash T20 then in Ranji considering such pathatic cricket is played in it.

Atleast in Big Bash T20...they were going to start facing chest height deliveries...& might learn a trick or two

BCCI does not allow indian players to play in county, big bash, BPL,etc., Because they dont want other boards to make money through Indian viewership/sponsers/etc., if others too make more money through T20 league, they will start giving more money to players and eventually their league will complete with IPL which obviously BCCI dont want that to happen. moreover BCCI is currently the richest board, now they are getting everything done by flexing their financial muscles. if other boards too get rich, BCCI will lose its power a bit.

Most of the people watch IPL to see their favorite Indian player perform. Depending on regional factors, it could be players like Praveen Kumar, Yusuf Pathan or even Sreesanth. If these guys start playing other leagues, while it may garner a lot of eyeballs for these leagues, it may result in dilution of interest for IPL. Obviously BCCI wouldn't want this. In the long run, less exposure is better for these players too, otherwise a small timer like Jadeja wouldn't fetch $2m.

Thanks to them and by many coincidences, they got huge amounts of money into Cricket. But due to out of date economics that cricket boards and ICC use, India basically ends up funding every other cricket boards as well. Why should India and SL get paid the same amount for a tour, when India brings in 30 million $ while most cricket boards would have to lose money to host SL? Change the economic model and pay India/BCCI based on what it brings to the table, then we can talk about letting other boards getting in on the only remaining non-competitive cash flow.

Ultimate_Game Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 Initially thought it would be a good idea for some of the youngsters to play in these T20 leagues but on 2nd thoughts they shouldn't. Else most of our domestic players, at least those who are good enough, will be busy playing T20 all across the globe a la Pollard and you definitely don't want that to happen. A 2 month IPL and domestic T20s are more than enough T20s for youngsters already.

Regarding infrastructure etc, in India, What has this topic got to do with it?[/quote'] see this is not a big league (when compared to ipl) so i dont think any big players will play anyway... people like pathan are more suited to it and i wont mind seeing him more :P well this is my opinion.. u can disagree but its not just about ipl man..just look at soccer leagues too...give me one reeally good reason of stopping them ? not this ipl business if cricket is good it will generate crowds. i dont know why we are even talking about this.. think urself..wht if other counries boycott with ipl (wont happen cos of money) but wont it be disappointing
