Irfan has been more effective than Jadeja. And he is still only 27!. Infact both Pathans provide an excellent switch option between overseas and flat/turning tracks.

Limited overs cricket doesn't come any bigger then the knockout stages of the World Cup and Raina delivered twice in them. No doubt he's a big game player in shorter formats. India wouldn't have won the WC without him and I doubt Jaddu or any other younger batsman could have playe those knocks. In sub-continent he should be in the team without any doubt. In fact I don't think he has failed in subcontinent in shorter formats. But yeah he shouldn't be there in the team on tours to SA or Aus on current form.

I would play Pathan bros ahead of the likes of Jaddu and Pappu any day.

We always do well when we play to our strengths and look much more balanced with the extra batsmen. Fact that Dhoni persists with Jadeja is because he knows his bowlers will not finish their quota of overs. If he thinks this, he should drop a main bowler and play jaddu as specialist spinner. But not no7, Jaddu is not an ODI batsmen and def not a no7...
