Raghav_12 Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 lol at the photo.. But these Lankans managed to keep India out of two finals after that epic WC finals :-((
Cricket Tragic Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 But seriously, I don't think they have a **** about this tournament.
Vijy Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Pathetic performance from the Lankans. If Bangos had been chasing 232, the match would have been over by an eve bigger margin.
germanrotweiler Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Lankans should be banned from playing IPL that would teach them a lesson not to screw with us in the future
yoda Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 They got us kicked out of two tourneys in a row. :fail:
Ultimate_Game Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Lankans should be banned from playing IPL that would teach them a lesson not to screw with us in the future Our fault entirely for putting us in such a position. We had the chance to bat B'desh out of the game. We didn't do so and are paying the price.
Alchemist Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Our fault entirely for putting us in such a position. We had the chance to bat B'desh out of the game. We didn't do so and are paying the price. We also had a chance to bowl Bangladesh out of the tournament and we didn't do so.

Agreed but you could see no real intent from those Ravans...lakmal bowling down the leg side and holding malinga back when the partnership was building btwn shakibal and tamim..,
Ultimate_Game Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 We also had a chance to bowl Bangladesh out of the tournament and we didn't do so. Our bowling has always been our weak link. Even in the WC against the same opponents and with a better bowling lineup we conceded 283. With Zak, Umesh etc. not in the team why even take such a risk as on a patta that total can be won by a blinder. We had an opportunity to bat B'desh out of the game but we didn't and that's our fault entirely.
germanrotweiler Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Yep' date=' our fault for losing[/quote'] we lost but what hurts is SL took us out with them.... and it was clear their lack of intent on winning this

They had nothing to gain from it and obviously B'desh would have wanted it much more than Lankans. It's us who put ourselves in the position. Nobody but us are to be blames. Not Lankans but us.

Not Lankans but us. exactly they had nothing to gain and India had everything to loose.... i am just questioning their approach for this one game....not introducing Malinga whan the partnership was building this was the same SL tht introduced maling when the partnerhsip was going on btwn hussey and watson to break it..here they were continuing with trundlers and spinner.... then again malinga had a chance to catch mahmudullah and he just stood there...

While chasing a huge score, weaker teams also score more than they otherwise would have, though they eventually fail to overhaul the total. In huge chases Kenya has reached upto the score of 264 against test playing nations. http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/433588.html http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/65183.html However, highest score they have chased successfully against test teams is just 216. http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/team/26.html?batting_fielding_first=2;class=2;filter=advanced;innings_number=2;orderby=team_score;qualmin1=200;qualval1=team_score;result=1;result=2;result=3;result=5;template=results;type=team;view=innings You should look at the right number.
zep1706 Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 ha ha ha epic photo of that pretentious biatch. 3-0 ha ha ha :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical:
The Outsider Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Bangladesh had chased down 250 runs against McGrath, Gillespie, Kasprowicz, and Hogg away from home, away from the subcontinent 6 years back when they were a much more crappy team. To paint it as if chasing 290 against Praveen, Pathan, Dinda, and Ashwin on a home grown patta is some sort of impossible challenge for them when they have improved as a team is delusional. Not to mention additional PP overs and exposure to T20 has made such scores less safe.

Against our bowling attack, I'm sure some of the Associates would also have fancied their chances of chasing down that target. We were short by 20-30 runs thanks to You-Know-Who.

More importantly, what happened a week back on similar track, as observed and assessed by players who are in the middle - would give more reliable estimation of the target to set. Than some one year old scorecard, played by different set of players.

You have to keep at the back of your mind B'desh have players like Tamim and Sakib. A Tamim 100 can very well put B'desh in a position to overhaul 280 odd, and against the likes of Dinda, PK etc. no score is ever safe. I think we messed up big time when we could have batted them out of the game. Not to say that our bowlers are exempt of all blame, but they suck big-time and frankly we never had much hope from them. Our batting has been our strength and they should have finished off the match when they had the chance.
