Since 2007 World cup disaster we've reached new heights which started from the victory in England test series. And the circle got completed in last England tour. :P

Were we really that bad over-seas? I thought we were one of the best touring countries in the world, if we take last 5 years, and discount the horror of the last 2 tours. In fact, I might be wrong, but I think only Australia have been better than us? BTW, about your economy analogy, isnt that the way any growing economy works, except the poor stay where they are or grow at a slower rate than the rich
