cybervickey Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 Are you happy with the overall achievements of the team during the last 5 years ? .If you were given a choice 5 years ago for the same exact performances by the team would you have taken it or would you have passed ?.For me the WC was the most satisfying from India ever. I wasn't even born when India won its first WC so i couldn't really relate to a lot of players and their stories but I can relate to this team and I've grown up watching players like sachin do their thing. So if i were given the choice I would've took it.

I'd take it.
vamos_rafa Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 4 good years with 1 bad. I'd take it. This. It's tough to move on from the drubbings we have had. But, nonetheless we were fantastic outside the SC before the World Cup. As someone who has seen his team being murdered in alien condiiotns right through the 90's, what we saw b/w 2007-10'11 was like gold.
Khalpat Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 About Indian cricket it has been kind of roller coaster ride but as far as your Thread is concerned, it seems your L and D have interchanged. :winky:
Number Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 Overall results have been satisfying in 4 years. After world cup we had a shockingly bad year. But I am disappointed the way rebuilding in test team has gone. Kumble and Ganguly's replacement , not even a single good young fast bowler coming. Seniors not being phased out. Poor planning which will haunt us over the years.

In this case, since you've chosen a 5 year review, you are going to include the 2007 and 2011 WCs. That obviously going to include the WC and the T20 championship. I'm happy with the performances in the last 5 years. We've won most of the time it mattered. Infact, the Apr 2006- Apr 2011 is probably the best 5 year window ever in Indian cricket. World Cup + t20 + test win against Australia + IPL taking off.

adi B Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 right now we are a joke of a test team nd the world knows it
deathmonger Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 all on patta`s :cantstop: T20 WC in SA Virat 100 in Hobart Test series win in England, NZ, WI. Plus good showing in SA and Aus contributed to no 1. Why do some Indians have an inferiority complex that you have to do well abroad to be considered good. Look at England. Destroyed in UAE. They have been sucking in Asia for decades at an end. I agree doing abroad is good. But it's not like any other team has been doing as setting the world on fire in unfamiliar conditions.
jairamesh Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 all on patta`s :cantstop: And what exactly have the others than on a patta!, zilch. Conditions are the same visiting teams. It's been 8 years now since anyone has managed to beat India in India. Currently no-one comes close to this home domination.
