Mariyam Posted April 25, 2012 Share Posted April 25, 2012 What happened yesterday was a tragic. And the sad thing is that it wasn't the first time it happened at the Eden Gardens. Last year during the WC, as the stadium wasn't ready in time, the India England (not too sure) match was shifted to Bangalore. BCCI must investigate into the matter. Its not like the Bengal Cricket Association are any short of funds. The least that they can do is ensure minimum safety and standards of construction when so many people are out there to watch the game. Apparently, a box of bamboo on was on a concrete base, and the stadium authorities didn't want to ( we can only guess why) add more support pillars of steel/concrete to the box.
