yoda Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 Half the time we collapse even before giving ourselves a chance to choke! We also avoid choke by simply refusing to score or get the feck out. So our choke record is very questionable.
Ultimate_Game Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 Three levels of chokers - Chokeption ! Choke within a choke Now that would be awesome :haha:
Ultimate_Game Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 Half the time we collapse even before giving ourselves a chance to choke! Which is why it's not choking :haha:
Executioner Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 If Ganguly's team was called a choker when thy lost something like 9 finals' date=' then Loins deserve to be called so as well. In the finals you are bound to come against tough opponents but it takes a special team to fail 3 out of 3 times :giggle:[/quote'] it also takes a special team to get to those finals! sanga, jaya, dilshan, malinga, mathews...all class players :hatsoff::hatsoff:
Crookbond Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 Well we haven't been able to get past Super 8s. This time we won 2 games as well. :(( It in some ways reminds me of Brazil in the 1978 FIFA WC who did not proceed further despite not losing a single game. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1978_FIFA_World_Cup#Second_round
Ultimate_Game Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 it also takes a special team to get to those finals! sanga, jaya, dilshan, malinga, mathews...all class players :hatsoff::hatsoff: Let me put it this way... You hahve 2 options :- A) Your team makes nearly ever final in 5 years but loses every one of them to show nothing fo rthe so called great team. B) Your team doesn't make it to too many finals but when it does it wins and has 2 world titles to show in the last 5 years. Now which one would you want your team to be? Having lived through the Ganguly era of being so near and yet too far I would go for option B anyday.
Pagalpanti Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 Choke within a choke Now that would be awesome :haha: Well India managed that in a game vs SA (in '11 Wcup) didn't they? Choked with the bat first.. 7/29 or something and then with the ball 16 of last over. :giggle:
Crookbond Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 Here's an idea - if you want to avoid racist comments link our monikers to our real life identities. Facebook connect is one way - it may not completely remove vitriol but curb it to a good extent.

Number Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 Its not just Indians, check Youtube comments and other such sites. People can be so foul mouth to other countries, religions and races . Its upto the moderation of a site how much it allows. Clear rules for abuses and trolling, anyone who breaks them, gets banned. Simple.

And TBH things are pretty good out here when you compare youtube, cricinfo, randome sports forums and even SL cricket fan forum comments. I would say i haven't come across a much cleaner sports forum yet.
Crookbond Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 Not too many people will join in that case. Exactly - it's a trade off. Pick yours and take a stand.

First level offense, 20% ICF $ fine and warning. Second offense, more fine and ban for 1 month. :cantstop: The difficult part in making a harsh stand is consistency IMO.

Old guy Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 What stand? It's an intenet sports forum for crying out loud. ah..i remember some threads...(hint sarkar posted the most comments) it dodnt looked like sports discussion to me
