gaurav92 Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 So Sir John started commentating in CI for the minnow games as there was no other more interested :hmmm:
Ultimate_Game Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 Looks like a technical glitch to me. Occasionally you see it on cricinfo
the_indian_fan Posted April 14, 2012 Posted April 14, 2012 heres some interesting commentary from the england v netherlands match in 2011 wc when ten doeschate was smashing the england bowling - 40.4 Collingwood to de Grooth, 1 run, 100.8 kph, de Grooth doing just the right thing and picking off a single to get Sachin ten Doeschate back on strike
Stuge Posted April 14, 2012 Posted April 14, 2012 Looks like a technical glitch to me. Occasionally you see it on cricinfo what do you mean> ROBOTS typing comentary ?
Cricket Tragic Posted April 14, 2012 Posted April 14, 2012 Quite common in matches that no one cares about.
Ultimate_Game Posted April 14, 2012 Posted April 14, 2012 what do you mean> ROBOTS typing comentary ? Nope. What I meant was a technical gitch in the platform/application/system they use to post the commentary. Do you guys think they type everything every ball? They must have a few templates being used where the delivery no. (e.g., 17.3, 17.4 etc.) is automatically generated and even the bowler name would be entered just once so that the part is generated automatically. Only the commentary part which deals with the live action part like "dabbed down on the leg side for a single" would be entered/written/texted live. rest would be auto-generated by the template/presentation piece. And that is where the problem seemed to be. And you do see the problem occasionally when the same delivery shows up twice.
