Shakib is the best Bengali international cricketer in the KKR side (apologies to Manoj Tiwary), perhaps even the best international cricketer from either side of Bengal after Dada. The way he has been performing, it will not be long before he becomes the most likeable superstar from KKR.

I wanted to know one thing and can members from kolkata give me a little info on this:) How popular is shakib al hasan in kolkata?..you know being a bangali dada was always and still is very popular here in Dhaka and Bangladesh,we always had a soft corner for dada being a bangali I am talking about the general Bangladeshi people, Shakib is also a Bangali and plays for KKR now so how popular he is in kolkata?..if anybody from kolkata can ans my query speaking for general kolkata people i'll be very happy thank you:)

Leave ganguli sakib’s popularity is no even close to Manoj tiwary. In kkr team among overseas player bret lee and jack kallis is much more popular. We admire all cricketing talent from the world but We love our Indian star. we admire sakib-al-hasan as very talented Bangladeshi cricketer & very important player for kkr(personally I love to see any emerging player performing well in IPL than the overseas ).
