cameron_black Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 MUMBAI: Not without reason does Team Hyderabad skipper Kumar Sangakkara keep his wicketkeeping gloves back in the dressing room. After bearing a major chunk of the responsibility of captaining Sri Lanka, taking diving catches and executing smart stumpings - besides bailing the team out with his batting - the 34-year-old realized his body and mind were struggling to cope. Soon after he decided against keeping in Tests, Sangakkara's batting average began to soar. The elegant southpaw doesn't even keep wickets in the shorter version of the game these days. India and Chennai skipper MS Dhoni is on the same page as his Sri Lankan counterpart. The only difference though, is that Dhoni is still keeping wickets in all forms of the game. So it's not a surprise when Sangakkara mentions that it's due to the wicketkeeping chores that Dhoni's batting is taking a beating in Tests. "Dhoni's Test average is not reflective of his capabilities," says Sangakkara. "Keeping, batting and leading a side simultaneously can be hard. Dhoni is a wonderful batsman but because he is doing so much at the same time, he is not batting as well as he should." http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/sports/cricket/ipl-2012/news/MS-Dhoni-shouldnt-keep-suggests-Sangakkara/articleshow/12927934.cms
cameron_black Posted April 30, 2012 Author Posted April 30, 2012 i reckon dhoni would average about 55 in tests if he doesn't keep.
Magneto Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 If Dhoni doesn't keep in Tests, he should be kicked out of the squad.
Sehwag1830 Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 If Dhoni doesn't keep in Tests' date=' he should be kicked out of the squad.[/quote'] :--D:nice:

cameron_black Posted April 30, 2012 Author Posted April 30, 2012 can't understand why you people don't see his batting talent. he can be the middle order rock, maybe he can take dravid's place at the top if he doesn't keep.

Crookbond Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 MS Dhoni shouldn't keep and Sangakkara shouldn't speak.

You geniunely don't know anything about Indian cricket. well there's no reason why he can't transform his ODI batting form into test cricket. he's mature enough to handle it.

SLICKR392 Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 Why isn't Sanga an ODI specialist but a class TEST player....he doesn't keep wickets in odis aswell but still he isn't good in odis....its the exact opposite when it comes to Dhoni.

cameron_black Posted April 30, 2012 Author Posted April 30, 2012 well dravid was initially a wicket keeper during the 2002-2003 period IIRC, but then he decided to turn himself into a specialist batsman and look at the awesome returns he got. he simply excelled.
cameron_black Posted April 30, 2012 Author Posted April 30, 2012 @cameron_black quit trolling i've trolled, yes, but not here.
