IPL is driven by fanbase somewhat. So frequent shuffling of players will dampen it.
nothing will affect teams.. change all the players ill still root for :rcb: only :two_thumbs_up:

The reason why I dont think there should be too much retention because think about it, for example, there is abs. no loyalty for the players towards their resp. franchises. These are no clubs. The franchises only care about what the player does in the IPL and everything else they dont give a ****. Some players like sakib is being benched and is probably not liking to be in KKR so he will prob. want to be in some other team. On the other hand PWI is so weak that they will def. search for a better player than gongs like nehra and sir Gonguly

I can see Jadeja getting paid more than Murali for one of the many suggested reasons' date=' but can't fathom a 10x multiplier if the followed process was sane. For example if Murali had the right to sign with any team and negotiate contracts, he could have come up with more than 200k, IMO. Similarly if Jadeja had done the same, he wouldn't be anywhere close to 2 mill.[/quote'] This is exactly 1 of the reasons I dislike 'auction' system at first place; for some its THE solution rather than fair model to sustain the quality of the IPL show for long term. Another obstraction is the quota for foreign perfermers per match needs to increase so that can help justify fair bid for players like Murali & no overpricing due to lack of local talents. Regarding policing for fair compitition sustainability, unwillingness/inability to handle money laundering in "backdoor route and bypassing the salary cap" issue shouldn't hold authorities like BCCI, taxation board, anti-corruption, law-enforcement agency etc for 5/6 seasons to build up a set of policies to make a fair business environment where a cristal clear draft can happen every season based on individual right for negotiation with francises by the players.

draft system/trade system Otherwise IPL will go down the drain. You gotta be kidding yourself if this is how you business by respecting all the stakeholders.
