http://www.espncricinfo.com/australia/content/story/533940.html Whaddaplaya Luke Pomersbach has cited "health and well-being" reasons for missing Western Australia's domestic season © Getty Images Enlarge Related Links Players/Officials: Luke Pomersbach Teams: Australia | Western Australia Luke Pomersbach has said he will not take part in any domestic tournaments for Western Australia this season because of "health and well-being" reasons. His announcement comes a day after he missed a practice match, prompting Western Australia to initiate an investigation, with the possibility of taking disciplinary action. "Over the past month I have been battling personal issues which have greatly affected the commitment I have made as a member of the Retravision Warriors squad," Pomersbach said. "It would therefore be in the best interests for myself, my team-mates, and WA cricket as a whole to step down from the state squad and the Perth Scorchers' Big Bash League team to concentrate on my well-being. I hope to one day return to the elite level if the chance presents itself." Western Australia Cricket Association chief Graeme Wood said the organisation supported Pomersbach's decision. "I commend Luke for making such a brave career choice," he said. "His health is of paramount importance and we will continue to work with Luke and the Australian Cricketers' Association to look after his well-being." The WACA had said in a statement that it would be investigating Pomersbach's disciplinary breach. "The Western Australian Cricket Association is looking into a disciplinary breach by Luke Pomersbach, who failed to attend an intra-squad practice match at Stevens Reserve in Fremantle, scheduled to commence yesterday. The WACA will be making no further comment until the matter has been fully investigated and finalised." Pomersbach, who turns 27 this week, has a history of transgressions. He was suspended by Western Australia in August 2009, when he avoided a jail sentence after admitting to assaulting a police officer who was trying to arrest him for drunken driving. Tom Moody, the coach at the time, had said Pomersbach was on his last chance. Earlier in 2009 Pomersbach had been suspended and fined after failing to show up for a club match. In 2007, Pomersbach and Shaun Marsh were suspended indefinitely after a late-night drinking session in the lead-up to a state match. While Marsh, who is now part of Australia's Test team, credited the ban as the wake-up call he needed, Pomersbach's disciplinary issues continued. Pomersbach made a surprise debut for Australia in a Twenty20 match against New Zealand in Perth in December 2007, after Brad Hodge suffered a back spasm before the match. Pomersbach has not played for Australia since and has been in and out of the Western Australia side over the past few years.

Sick of the media bashing IPL from day 1. Now it emerges that Sid was probably right after all. This Zohal is no fiancee of anyone. Sahil too seems to be a pretty controversial character. Came in from Srinagar six years ago, sold carpets and is now worth 1000's of crores. Not sure if the media realizes what being worth 1000's of crores means. But apparently he's got political connections. Turns on Zohal is not even Indian! I mean before our journos report sometin dnt they investigate? Effing lazy bast*rds. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/indiahome/indianews/article-2147837/Life-really-party-toxic-bachelor-Sahil-Peerzada.html?ito=feeds-newsxml http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/Lukes-lawyers-deny-that-he-confessed-to-cops/articleshow/13366770.cms

The reason this issue has got its share of attention is precisely because she is NOT an Indian. She's an American. No one screws with a Yankee. If it would've been an Indian, she would've been victimized and forced to keep her gob shut. I salute this lady for her bravery. Not everyone can standup to the Mallya's.

What you're saying is possible as well. But Luke's earlier fiascos might go against him. This is anyway headed towards another out-of-court settlement. I saw a bit of the news on TV; the bf is apparently in ICU and he needs surgery, and Luke is hanging around with a broken/plastered arm. :dontknow:
This is anyway headed towards another out-of-court settlement :hehe:

This is similar to the old Indian movies...when the villain rapes a poor gal, he has/gets to marry the gal. Gal doesn't have a say :hmmm:

IPL molestation row: Zohal Hamid reaches settlement with Luke Pomersbach, Sidhartha Mallya NEW DELHI:In a late-night development,US national Zohal Hamid's lawyer confirmed that she had reached a settlement with Team Bangalores director Sidhartha Mallya and Australian player Luke Pomersbach, who plays for the team.TOI had reported on Wednesday that the two sides were on the verge of reaching a compromise. My client has come to an agreement with Pomersbach and an appropriate petition will be filed in court on Thursday for quashing of the FIR, Rajneesh Chopra,Zohals lawyer, told TOI. Chopra also said Zohal would not proceed with a defamation case against Mallya after he posted a tweet describing his earlier, controversial tweets about her as unfortunate. US national Zohal Hamid's lawyer confirmed late on Wednesday night that she would not file a defamation case against Sidhartha Mallya after he tweeted an apology of sorts. I've always been a very loyal person who stands up for friends. The tweets/comments made were unfortunate, being the product of stressful circumstances & I realise people drew meaning and connotations other than and beyond what was intended against Zohal, Sidhartha Mallya tweeted at 11.22pm. My client is satisfied with the apology. It complies with the demands of the legal notice. All charges have been dropped against Mallya, Zohals lawyer Rajneesh Chopra told TOI. At 11.24pm, Mallya tweeted, Oh and btw, I know ppl can be cynical, so just so u know, the settlement wasn't financial in any way! At 11.37, he again tweeted, So glad that all charges have been dropped and Luke can return down under A FREE MAN! Interestingly, controversial businessman Abhishek Verma, who has described Zohal as his rakhi sister, tweeted, Truly disappointed @sidharthamallya as his tweet doesn't contain an apology. How difficult is it to say,Sorry Zohal, I take my words back. However, Zohal and the Peerzadas seem in no mood to continue the high-profile battle that has been making headlines ever since she accused Luke of molesting her and assaulting Sahil, early on May 18. Rajneesh Chopra said Luke,Zohal and her boyfriend Sahil Peerzada met in Delhi on Wednesday along with their lawyers and came to an agreement, but declined to divulge the venue of the meeting. Earlier on Wednesday, Sahil's elder brother, Feroze, had told TOI: I have advised my brother to forgive Luke and withdraw the complaint. I respect our culture of forgiving and forgetting. Luke should also apologize for his behaviour. Even as the buzz about an impending settlement become louder throughout Wednesday, Delhi Police said they were investigating the charges according to the procedure and would be filing a chargesheet soon. We have not received any direction from the court and will continue with the investigation. Even if the complainant decides to withdraw the complaint, police will have to submit the chargesheet as a formal FIR has already been registered. In case of withdrawal of case, the matter can be resolved only in the high court, said a senior police officer. http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/delhi/IPL-molestation-row-Zohal-Hamid-reaches-settlement-with-Luke-Pomersbach-Sidhartha-Mallya/articleshow/13420047.cms
